I asked about this before but all i got in return was directions on how to hook up a rocker switch, which I already know how to do. Here's the situation: I have an rv. I put this switch in my rv and hooked it up to the water pump and placed the switch in the kitchen area of the rv. Recently I added another switch, just like this one, into the circuit and placed it in the bathroom of the rv. It is connected into the earlier pump wires load to load, earth to earth, and power to power. Unfortunately when I hook this second switch in the LED stops working on both. The pump works from both fine but the LED IN THE SWITCH fails to light. i need the LED to work so I can tell if the pump has been left turned on.
    Can this be done?

Hi Mike, happy to help! Yes, you can connect multiple switches and for this configuration you will need in line fuses between the positive bus bar and hot prong on the switches. The reason is, the amperage draw will add up and build heat that is hot enough to melt the insulation. In a overload the fuse is designed to stop this. The other reason is, if something breaks its easier to isolate the problem with the individual accessory. I have one of these hooked to the water pump in my rv and it works great. The led let's me know if I've left the pump on. I need to hook a second one to the same pump for use in the bathroom but when I connect it into the wires feeding the existing one the led stops working. How can I hook it up so the led works on whichever switch is turned on? I hooked each wire of the new switch into the matching wire of the existing switch and that doesn't work. I'm not interested in a 3-way switch set-up.

Take a volt OHM meter place one meter lead on one terminal the other lead on another terminal, take the rocker and rotate to see if the two terminals open and break on moving the switch. if it does one will be used as your power wire from the from the fuse block and the other to your load or what you want to control. Every electrical item sold should have a wiring diagram, if it does not then shop else where!!

Happy to help you with your question Lesley! According to the manufacture there is a sticker on the underside of the switch with a diagram on it. If your switch does not have the sticker please take it to your closest store for a replacement.

I'm happy to help, Newbie! To install the Autocraft Black Body/Amber LED Glow (Part No. 84842) you will have one ground line and two power lines, one to the device and one to the power source. I have sent you a wiring schematic to your e-mail for a general reference.
