I tried these on my 1991 Toyota pickup. The wire going to the negative terminal was bare and the two going to the positive had eyelets on their ends. I installed the negative wires into the channel between the terminal bolts. The channel is not epoxy covered and conductivity was fine (but I had to make sure the wire was well set within the channel). I attached the 2 positive eyelets to the bolts and between the plate and the terminal. The terminals under the plate are epoxy covered and there was no conductivity. My guess is that you could file the epoxy off and they would work with eyelets. I just put back my original positive terminal and called it a day.

Comments about AutoCraft Top Post Battery Terminals, Toolless:

A friend installed these, as my others had corroded so bad.

After a month, my battery kept draining. So bought a new battery, that lasted a month or so,then started draining again.
Luckily, I have a home charger, but it was a pan to run the extension cord to my Jeep.
My mechanic tighten everything down, and after 2 nights at home, did not start again.
I did some research online, and realized it was the terminals. So I bought shims, and put them on, (the guy at the store had to take one of the levers off to force the terminal on. BUT, after 4 days, no problems at all with starting my vehicle.

Comments about AutoCraft Top Post Battery Terminals, Toolless:

Wasn't tool-less installation in the end, I had to use pliers to hold the thumb nut steady when dropping the lever to tighten. Only when doing this did I get them tight enough to not move around on the posts.

Like another reviewer, I had eyelets on my cables, and so had to improvise something to give conductivity from the top plated to the battery.

Worst of all, while tightening the bolts holding the cables to it, the positive terminal cracked almost all the way across. Guess they'll be going back tomorrow.

Comments about AutoCraft Top Post Battery Terminals, Toolless:

I debated spending the extra dollar for this product vs the standard screw one. Glad I did. The lever makes installation and removal of the terminals a breeze. I just installed the terminals so I can't say how they will last long term. If you're considering these and the traditional version definitely go with these.

This product is a good idea, but fails in practical application. The terminals are extremely hard to get snug enough and continually come loose. I am replacing them with traditional nut and bolt terminals.

I have had these connectors for 6 months and they continue to come loose, despite having them professionally serviced more than once. They are very easy to install but they are not worth the hassel of always having them come loose and my truck not starting until I go under the hood and manually tighten them. Buy different connectors...
