Would not tighten to negative side and cracked. Positive side was tight, but bolt mysteriously disappeared after a week ? New bolt, tightened and this side cracked.

Comments about AutoCraft Top Post Battery Terminal, Lead:

The online listing says "Lead". It is actually made of zinc which is less malleable than lead. Because the negative post is smaller in diameter than the positive the and the terminal clamps are the same size the one on the negative cable must be tightened more to ensure a good electrical bond. The second time I removed and tried to retighten the clamp it snapped.

It was what I needed to replace the old corroded one. The hardest part was cutting off the old one. Install was a snap.

Comments about AutoCraft Top Post Battery Terminal, Lead:

I brought 2 of them battery terminals to replace the old worn one ones on my 97 f-150, they go on so smooth and easy installation, it's good to keep one around just in case acid or corrosion really starts to build up. before I got finished installing them I put some of that battery protector stuff on the terminals to seal and coat the terminals to eliminate the formation of acid salt prevent battery drain and corrosion. Improves battery life and electrical flow.

One thing you can do to clean the cable is use a mixture of baking soda and water with a rag or brush of some sort.

Brake cleaner or carb cleaner- cuts through any residue. I prefer carb cleaner.
