Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

These were WAAY over size They floated on the post. I spread the clamps as far as I dared and they still didn't want to go in. Finally put them on post, crushed wirh pliers. Removed, pushed into clamp with a socket and C clamp.Tapped clamp down with a big socket and hammer. Tore one up but just needed one. There is no reason they should be so much larger than the post. There is another type out there that is just a ring made from a strip. Too big,no problem, cut a little off. Next time. I have also seen orhers similar to this one , on line ,that look like a better fit.

Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

I had to change the battery in my '07 Honda Odyssey. This was the first time I didn't have the dealer do it. I discovered that when the dealer did the last replacement they overtightened the terminals to the point where they were deformed and stretched out; even the battery posts were deformed!

These lead shims were the perfect solution, and since they're lead, there shouldn't be ay problem with galvanic or electrolytic corrosion. They're very soft and will form to fit the space between the terminals and the posts. I went back and bought another pair to keep on hand.

Use this battery post shim in a situation where the post is too small. It fatten ups the post so thr terminal will tighten correctly and not bottom out.

Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

I bought a new battery for my 1988 year Mercury, and the factory installed, battery clips would not tighten firmly. This had been a problem with the battery that was replaced, as well. I though I would have to replace, either the cables, or at least the battery connecters, though they were still able to clamp, if the post were larger. These shims, slipped right over the new battery posts, widening them slightly, and negated the need to replace any of the existing components. I saved both time and money. These are quite inexpensive, certainly, a lot less than a battery clamp, let alone a new cable.

Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

My 2007 Santa Fe wasn't starting and the first thing I checked was the battery cable connections. The vehicle has an aftermarket battery with narrower posts than the factory battery. These shims made the posts slightly bigger, which allowed me to tighten down the battery clamps and get a good solid connection. They're also very malleable, so you can use simple tools (or your fingers) to shape them as necessary. These shims are an inexpensive problem solver.

Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

I bought a new car battery but apparently, the new batteries have different diameter posts than the old. The battery cables kept slipping off the posts randomly and the car would not start. I was told to replace the battery cables but not even the new cables fit so I searched and came across these shims. They work great and solved my problems.

            Solved the problem perfectly

Comments about AutoCraft Battery Post Shims:

Replaced battery in '07 Nissan Xterra, and had connection issues (single click when attempting to start the vehicle.) Diagnosed issue as a loose negative battery terminal connection, but couldn't tighten the clamp any further. Installed this shim, flared clamp out with a screwdriver, and tightened down hard. Now the clamp won't wiggle at all, and the connection is better than it ever was. This thing was just the ticket.
