I am a female with little knowledge of automobile engines. I also have a fear of electricity, like most people. I watched the on-line video and when the charger arrived I was able to connect it and start the charging without any help from anyone. The shipment was on time, the packing was very well done, and the item was exactly as described on the on-line website of Advanced Auto Parts.com. I would highly recomment this battery charger to anyone, whether they are a less informed casual driver or an automobile mechanic. The 3 charges, trickle, 12 amp and "jump start" are all one would need in a battery charger. I am very please with my purchase.

Item description inaccurate

Probably great for 12V batteries but does not charge 6V batteries as the product description states. Instructions specify to not use for charging 6V batteries.

Purchased the unit. Went for this higher upgrade. It worked fine the first time I used it ... then never again. Power light comes on ... but that's it. I have opened to check connections and possible bad solder joints. Problem is not obvious. I have noted that many other people have had this same problem with this unit.

First charger was defective, call the store was told the had another so come and get it. Arrived at store and was told they had sold the replacement and they would have another the next day by 4pm. I was upset as they knew that I was coming, yet they sold the last unit in stock, plus my car was down for one more day very inconvenient.

Hi there Matt! For your charger we suggest leaving it over night. Your battery may not be fully charged but very close to it. We suggest leaving it over night, it contains a microprocessor that will automatically shut it off once the battery is charged. If the red light does not change we suggest taking it to your local store this product does have a 2 year warranty, if it is still within those 2 years the store should be able to take care in exchanging it.

Hi Chris, glad to help you! The AutoCraft battery brand name is owned by Advance Auto Parts (AAP), but AAP does not manufacture batteries. The battery plants exist but are independent battery manufacturers, including GNB (formally Gould National Battery), and Johnson Controls Inc. But other more localized and smaller manufacturers also contribute to the demand. Advance Auto Parts does sell Made in the USA products as well as products manufactured from many other countries in order to keep our pricing competitive. Please also keep in mind that many suppliers have multiple manufacturing plants that could result in different countries of origin for the same part.

I'd be happy to help you with that! This product will work with AGM batteries which is usually the style most marine batteries are. It is designed for AGM, Lithium or 12V batteries. Follow the charging instructions from the battery manufacturer to avoid damaging the battery. There are only a few batteries that I know of that can not have a higher amperage charge, so the probability is that you should be able to use a normal charge setting.
