I don't do a lot of work on my car so I didn't want to spend much on a jack and jack stands. Based on other reviews I was worried that this wouldn't lift my Jeep Liberty, but the jack had no problem. (Needed to change front brake pads and rotors)

The jack has a very limited range for height, and overstated its weight capacity.

Min Height: Low riding sports cars may not fit the minimum height. Measure your sports car's jack points to make sure fits. Lifting a stock S2000 didn't work because the car was too low.

Max Height: The max height was too low to lift my van high enough to stick a 11" jack stand under. A van or SUV may need a max height of 16-18" depending on the jack point to effectively place some jack stands.

Max Weight: The stated capacity is 4000lbs. The front end of a 4500lbs Honda Odyssey is about 2500lbs. When attempting this lift, I can put my entire body weight (160lbs) on the handle and it will not lift. I don't know if it would have worked if I were heavier, but this makes me feel like the jack simply wasn't designed to lift more than 2000lbs. Lifting a Mazda3 worked, although it still required quite a bit of elbow grease.

If your car is over 3000lbs, this jack will be difficult to impossible to use. Be sure the check the min/max height to fit your vehicle.

There are low profile jacks out there better suited for sports cars. Heavy duty jacks usually have higher max heights for vans and SUVs. Many heavy duty jacks are rated for only 4-6000 lbs, but are vastly easier to use than this 4000lbs jack.

I bought this to use while putting new brakes and rotors on a Toyota Rav4. This jack would not even lift it enough to get the tires off. Lift height is insufficient for any use at all - except may a low sports car wth low profile tires.

A great price! Jack doesn't get too high but does the job if you need to get your wheels off the ground for brake work.

Comments about AutoCraft 2-Ton Trolley Jack with 2-Ton Jack Stands Combination:

I really feel like the jack in the back of the car is more powerful than this thing. It can barely lift the car high enough for anything and constantly creaks, like it's about to give out. The jack stands are good. It did the job, but I was nervous the entire time.

Comments about AutoCraft 2-Ton Trolley Jack with 2-Ton Jack Stands Combination:

Problem 1: This jack is designed TOO low to the ground. What car is 3 only inches from the ground? Most car bodies are at least 6 inches off the ground. So, you have to pump the jack at least half way up just to reach the bottom of the car and start getting the tire off the ground.

Problem 2: The jack stands are U shaped on the top, which does NOT enable you to safely position the jack to hold the car up evenly. The jack stands U shape seem to be meant to hold a shaft-shaped object like an axle. But most cars have flat bottoms where you are supposed to jack them. So the U shape top does NOT properly rest against the bottom of the car. Then only one side of the U shape typically rests against the car bottom, particularly when the car tilts up as it jacks up. I could imagine the U shape having too much stress on one part of the U causing it to break. They should have made the top of the jack stands flat, not U shaped.

Comments about AutoCraft 2-Ton Trolley Jack with 2-Ton Jack Stands Combination:

The jack wouldn't lift my 2005 Subaru WRX STI, that is lowered on Coilovers, high enough to allow the jack stands under the car.

The jack does an OK job of lifting. I feel that the handle is two short and each pump of the handle doesn't lift too much.

If you're looking to change a wheel or something, this jack should suffice. If you're serious about doing modifications and such, then AVOID this jack.

Comments about AutoCraft 2-Ton Trolley Jack with 2-Ton Jack Stands Combination:

This product potentially would not raise the vehicle high enough. For my minivan on concrete, it raised the van enough so that the front wheel was almost 1/2" off the ground, barely enough to clear.
Each pump of the jack only raised the vehicle a very small about, so, took lots of pumping to get it raised.
Also of note, the jack stands have annoying catches to lock in place, but, at the jacks highest level, the stand locks about 1" below. So, if something did happen the car would fall 1" before landing on the stand. Obviously not engineered to work together.

Comments about AutoCraft 2-Ton Trolley Jack with 2-Ton Jack Stands Combination:

The wheels adjust the position of the jack's base as it lifts the vehicle. This needs to happen because the saddle at the top of the jack follows an arc'd trajectory as the jack/car is being elevated. So, make sure you're using this jack on a flat, level surface so the wheels can operate properly.

A downside - in my experience - is that although the jack is sufficient enough for me to perform maintenance, I would prefer if it could reach a higher level. I've used this on my Nissan Altima.
