Store stock was one year old but I needed it so I took it. Fits GL1500 but due to the shape of the cables/leads, you have to use the included brass spacers between battery and leads. Store staff had no clue about the spacers. Cranks fine; hope it lasts.

Installed this battery in a 2007 HD Herritage in December 2010. Bike is ridden year round so it hasn't been stored. Been having hard starting problems, so I checked it with a meter. Only putting out 10 volts. Didn't last much longer than the warranty.

Comments about AutoCraft 12-Volt Sealed AGM Premium Powersport Battery, 340 CCA:

I just bought one of these to replace an older, worn-out model. The new connectors are not solid metal like the old connectors (as shown in the picture). The connector on the new battery split off while hand tightening the screw. It's a piece of junk. Do not buy the new version of this battery.

Comments about AutoCraft 12-Volt Sealed AGM Premium Powersport Battery, 340 CCA:

I love maintenance free, sealed batteries for my motorcycles. There is no vent pipe to expose the undercarriage/frame/chain etc. to corrosive acid fumes. This particular battery has more CCA than OEM for Honda's GL1500 GoldWing. The price is very competitive, but the 90 day warranty is a bit on the chintzy side. Should be at least a year. Still, it seems like a good battery at a reasonable price.

I bought this battery for my goldwing, which I ride year round. I had grown tired of replacing other batteries every 6-8 months or so and thought this would be a nice upgrade. It left me stranded at about 13 months, 1 month past the warranty. I would not recommend this battery unless you want to talk to strangers in hopes of someone having jumper cables. I am certain there must be a better performing more economical option. A quick internet search will hopefully provide results. Perhaps a battery company of a piratical nature will be better.

Installed this on my 1980 Yamaha XS1100. Fit fine. The battery ran like a champ for 7 years and 10,000 miles. Even drained it completely accidentally a couple years back. I charged it up and it was good to go. I am writing this review as I am ordering my second one. I hope to get 7 years out of the next one too.
Oh and I love the fact that its sealed. I have too many bikes to going around checking the battery acid levels. I never touched this thing the entire time I had it and it worked great.

Purchased this battery new in April for my 2007 Polaris Sportsman. The OEM battery was a Yuasa battery and lasted 5 1/2 yrs. Purchased this battery and it worked great for a few months. Now it will not hold a charge over 11.5 volts, and the warranty is not good for this expensive of a battery.

                    A:

Most batteries will self discharge in about 3 months, or about 90 days. This means that the self discharge rate is about one percent per day, so a trickle charger is used in such cases. At the end of the charge cycle, when the green ready light is on, the charger is trickle charging the battery in constant voltage float/standby mode, nominally at 2.3 Volts per cell. This is the same charge method used for batteries in standby applications such as alarm panels or emergency lighting, where the battery is intended to be charged 24 hours a day, every day. At this voltage, the battery will not be gassing so loss of electrolyte is minimal. The charge current drops exponentially to a very low level, sufficient to maintain the battery in a fully charged state and to compensate for any self discharge. Over time this low rate of charge will tend to equalise charge imbalance between the cells, which can extend the battery life. By leaving the charger switched on, you will prevent any risk of damage to the battery from sulphation (which can be caused by allowing the battery to stand in the discharged state). The energy consumed in standby mode is minimal, typically about 10 Watts for a medium size charger.
