Q:I bought a 1975 Chevy Caprice. Speedometer reads 44,000 + miles. The speed indicator wand seems to act erratic during accelerating then becomes steady when speed levels out. Will replacing the speedometer cable solve this problem.
A:With reference to your inquiry on the ATP Speedometer Cable -part# 03152, the speedometer cable may be the possible cause of the problem on your Chevy Caprice. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, you may also call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
Q:my transmision was changed to a 350 and my speedometer started reading wrong is my cable broke or do i need a different cable
A:Unfortunately we are unable to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle without being able to be there with your vehicle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
Q:What is the length of the cable and what are the end connection spec's?
A:The specifications of the speedometer cable are as follows : Length : 63.000,End One : 1,600.20,End Two : 7/8-18" Round Nut and Type : 5/8-18" Round Nut.
Q:WILL THIS SPEEDOMETER WORK ON A 1987 NISSAN SENTRA?
A:No, this part does not fit your 1987 Nissan Sentra.
Q:Does the cable have any affect on the way your motor and teansmission shift and accelerates ?, because when it was going out, my transmission would shift harder when it reached 45mph, now with it broken, the Olds 98 is running better than ever before! Go figure! Also, is it an easy installation?
A:No this cable does not make the engine or transmission shift bad.
