Transhift cables connect the transmission selector lever/shifter to the transmission linkage. Old cables can bind, break, or just become sluggish. The best repair is to replace the old cable with a new one. ATP Transhift cables are designed to fit and function just like the original part to ensure durability and long life.

Comments about ATP Automatic Transmission Shifter Cable:

I haven't even put a thousand miles on the car and the cable's fallen apart already. The sleeve that holds the trans end in-line and allows it to PUSH the shifting arm completely came free, so now it flops around instead of shifting into any gear.

Comments about ATP Automatic Transmission Shifter Cable:

The shifter end was 1" too long. I could not put the shifter in Park or Reverse. I made major modification to the shifter end (cut off 1", pounded rod flat, drilled new hole, cut off metal sleeve).

The C clip groove was slightly large in diameter and the C clip was very hard to get on. The C clip groove was too wide and the cable was not held properly (it was at an angle instead of going straight to the shifter pin). I had to add a large washer to shim the C clip so it worked correctly).

Because of cutting 1" off the shifter end, it was too short to reach the shift lever on the transmission. I had to modify the bracket (cut & weld) to move the cable 1" closer to the shift lever.

This cable would be unusable by someone not able to modify it to fit.
