I tested on 14 vinyl shutters that were forest green but were fading with oxidation. After cleaning and allowing to air dry, I applied OutLast. Applying the product is easy and it seemed to be working. They darkened up and had a shine. I waited the required 5 minutes or more and wiped with a cloth terry towel. this knocked the shine down but they still looked pretty good.
HOWEVER- NEXT MORNING they were dull and blotchy. The package states older or dry items might need "multiple coats". OK so that might be fair. I had enough to apply a second coat which went faster. Again, it leaves you with a nice shine and then the product, in seconds just sits on top. It is not going to take anymore so you think your are finished. On my second coat it has improved and evened out but seems to till be loosing luster. HOW MANY coats is it going to take Armor All?
I had enough to go back to one set shutter and do a THIRD coat. I did not notice a major improvement in luster so not sure how many coats it would take to reapply.

Lets be real. This is supposed to be for worn plastic. It is called OutLast Plastic and Trim Restorer. One can assume this is for worn plastics and I would say is weak for worn vinyl at the least. For $15 and the claim that it will last 100 car washes, I expected a "Wipe New" type product that might seal. Vinyl shuttes are not very thick and I dont know how far they want this product to penetrate or if it would every be satisfied.

At this point it did darken the shutters Second coat helped even it out but time will tell if it will worsen in the next few hours like it did with the first coat. I would say it is fine if your plastic is only mildly dull but it is not a very good restorer if two coats and and over night set period does not yeild decent results. If your plastic is faded, seek something stronger or be prepared to do many coats before this stuff is satisfied.

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

I've used this product once and for the first time. I used it on the sunfaded cowl at the base of my windshield. It brought the shine back! I had to apply it twice to get the best results. Also I learned this product works best if applied on a wet microfiber towel so it can be worked in. Great stuff & I recommend it!!! BTW Use the rebate on this site to save $5! It worked well on my side mirrors and the black trim bits on my car too.

Disappointed

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

This product costs twice as much as the others. From their ad I thought it would work well. Followed directions. Looked at my truck the next day and the oxidation was worse than when I started (that was two coats)! I guess that just goes to show that just because something costs more doesn't always mean its better!

very happy with the results

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

I bought this stuff to give it a try. I am going to be selling a Nissan Xterra, as a flip. I applied some to the plastic strip that runs the length of the doors, to only half of the trim so I could judge the results. I was surprised by how good it did. I did this last fall to see how long it lasted exposed to the weather. It is now March and you can still see the difference. Six months outdoors and left facing the sun. I just used it on a 2000 Toyota 4runner today. All the trim looks brand new, even the running boards. I don't understand why others are having issues with it. This product will help me make me money, no doubt. Two thumbs up.

Another Armorall product that doesn't work

By

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

Bought Outlast 4 weeks ago and applied it to the vinyl trim on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee. Bought the Cherokee new, always garaged, washed weekly. Trim kept clean of oxidation and in good shape... till Outlast applied strictly per directions. After four attempts, looked fair. After two washings, shabby. Very shabby. Dull, streaked, gum-like. With the exception of Armorall Tire Foam (works well!) Outlast has joined the other Armorall products I have tried over the years in the trash.

Outlast Restorer Review

By

from Glenwood Springs, CO

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

I purchased Outlast this last summer. It looked good for the first few weeks, but then, the vinyl started getting bleached out. At this point, it looks like the vinyl looks awful. It is spotty and in far worse condition than it started. I don't know if Amorall is aware of this, but this product is really bad. My car is ruined.

Nice at first but doesn't last

By

Comments about Armor All Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer (8 oz.):

Used on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler fenders and bumpers. While it did look good upon initial application, after first wash the plastic trim was basically back to square one! Very disapointed. Too expensive to have to reapply after each wash.
