I have had 2 of these mounts on my car before I went and bought the oem part. Both of the mounts wore out in less than 3 months. Also when i installed the mount the transmission side of the mount is to thick to fit in its location. Had to get it machined down to fit.

Garbage (smaller) Bushing.......

By

Comments about Anchor Torque Strut Mount:

Word to the wise... Get yourself some good poly replacement bushings, and if you don't have one, find someone with a shop press and install them into your factory mount; not only will you save money but the mount will be indestructible and will probably outlive your car! I installed this only because i put in all new motor/ trans mounts and didn't know this part was garbage out of the box! The second i looked at it i new it was junk! The big bushing looked to be good and was made well, the small end was a FAIL! I put it in anyways just to see how long it would last! The factory Torque mount that was in my car was in pretty good shape once removed; the other mounts were shot. However, I wanted everything to be new so stress wouldn't ruin a newly installed part thats the only reason i bought this thing (the motor shook a lot so i new it needed at least one motor mount). I kept the old Torque mount because it only had very little play on the big bushing end; and, because i would get poly bushings for it and press them in when this thing craps out and again.. the small bushing looked REALLY CHEAP! Needless to say not even 5k on this thing mount and the small bushing is wasted! I'm installing the original one today and I'm glad i kept it.

This Torque Strut Mount only lasts about a year of normal daily driving, on my 4 one. Thank God for the Lifetime warranty. Needs some heavier durometer rubber compound. Works well when new.

Comments about Anchor Torque Strut Mount:

Should have payed attention the previous reviews, but I needed a mount and Ford no longer makes it.
It does NOT eliminate engine rocking action like it says it will. It was worse than the worn out factory mount. Car shook and vibrated BAD compared to the old high mileage mount it was intended to replace. Try and find a OEM unit, there are still some places online that have them you just have to look, or if necessary a poly version of this mount. Wasted hours of my time, but at lease it can be returned for refund. Anchor just does not know how to make parts of any kind. I will avoid them at all costs!!!

Replaced this along with one upper (driver side). Both did not look that bad, but was a little soft. Was getting a little shake in reverse. After replacing both in just a hour or two the issue was resolved.

    Pros

      Cons

      • Must Modify To Fit
      • Too Much Rubber Flex

      Best Uses

Comments about Anchor Torque Strut Mount:

This replacement mount is far from OE quality. The transmission side hole was not big enough for the bolt to go thru, so a drillpress was needed to ream the hole larger. The rubber absorbers on this mount are very soft and the entire housing is much smaller than the stock one. It had more flex than the bad OEM one that was removed. The amount of grind marks and rubber flashings hanging off this part is enough to call AI's quality control below average.
