Comments about Anchor Mount Engine-Transmission:

Replaced an original factory mount with this one. I had a vibration issue I was trying to fix. The original had, let's say, more flexibility. This mount is very solid. So really I'm not sure if it's too rigid. I'm thinking of taking it back. Didn't seem to make a difference in my vibration issue. I guess if the mount was broken completely this would be a keeper.

  • Q:

What is the procedure for replacing "Anchor #2897" mount on left front transaxle of 2000 buick pk av ul? Do you have to remove the engine bracket w/all its hard to get to bolts? or just jack the devil out of frame & engine .......if that is possible w/o ruining other components?? I've considered cutting the lengths of the 3 bolts just enough to squeeze it in since the 3 vertical bolts that hold it are extra long. Thks for any help you can give.

      A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Anchor Mount Engine-Transmission - part# 2897, unbolt mount from transmission while supporting with jack. Jack up slightly. Unbolt old mount from cross member. Replace in reverse order, do final tightening with jack removed. The cross member may need to be removed from frame to access the lower bolts/nuts. However, I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts. For any further assistance, you may also call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

The 2001 buick lesabre custom has one near radiator and one near each front wheel. They call the one on the passenger side a motor mount and one on driver's side a tranny mount and there is one near firewall.

There are 4 mounts on your Pontiac Bonneville , 2 engine mounts and 2 transmission mounts. The front and rear mounts are transmission mounts, the other two on the sides are engine mounts, bolted to the oil pan.
