Comments about Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak:

I have a 1996 Taurus that was leaking at the radiator side tank crimp, I followed the instructions so I turned the car on a cold engine, turn the heat on, took the coolant tank car off poured this Alumaseal in the coolant tank in 5 – 10 seconds my leak was sealed and has been sealed for a month now with no signs of leaking in that same area. Very good stuff I recommend it.

Comments about Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak:

Alumaseal powder radiator stop leak has been around as long as I can remember. Ive used it over the years and never had any complaints, yet extremely thanjful Ive had it with me or near by. dont buy knock-offs as these off brands hve glogged heater cores and left residue floating thru the cooling system. I highly recommend this, it will seal most small leaks and pin holes. Follow the directions and it should get you thru to your destination or to get the proper repairs. Dont leave home without it in your tool box or emergency roadside repair kit.

Comments about Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak:

After a bad experience with a radiator and cooling system full of that unnamed "bars of leak" stuff's black goo I wasn't a fan of leak fixing concoctions. However a few years ago I was running low on funds and the water pump on my old diesel Blazer was leaking very slightly. I realized it wasn't the pump but the plate the pump mounts to that was leaking. Fixing it would have required pulling the whole front of the engine apart and the truck ran fine otherwise. After a couple friends of mine who were mechanics and several skilled home mechanics recommended this to me I figured it couldn't hurt any.
Sure enough it worked. Sealed up within the first drive and I owned the truck for almost two more years and it never leaked again from that spot or anywhere else.

Comments about Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak:

My I30 had a crack in the heater core outlet. They are made of plastic and become brittle with age. It wasn't a huge leak but just a slow drizzle that would need to be topped off every day. I wanted to give this a try before I started looking into replacing the heater core which is very labor intensive. Tried this product and the leak stopped after 10 minutes of driving and hasn't recurred since. It's been a week and so far so good.

Comments about Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak:

If you can locate the leak, I honestly suggest to fix it if you are in a lacation to do that. On the road and far from home sometimes makes that a less than desirable choice. My problem is that on my daughters car, and one of mine, I was losing small amounts of coolant daily, but could not find any visible leak, even under pressure. I checked many locations and just could not locate it. Finally decided it was either in a location that as it slowly seeped it was turned to steam and evaporated, or internal to the engine, somewhere. So I added a 20 gram tube of alumaseal to each radiator and drove about 20 or 30 minutes. Loss of coolant stopped immediately. Both cars. 6 months ago on her car and 1 month ago on mine. There has been no after affect on either car, heaters, valves, pumps, etc. I personally think this is the best product I have ever used. I have no plans to remove it, because if I did, I still would not know where the original leak was.

Usage Directions: Remove radiator cap only after engine is off and cold. Turn heater control to hot. Pour contents of tube directly into radiator. Add coolant to proper level if necessary. Replace radiator cap. Drive vehicle to seal leaks.

The Alumaseal Powdered Radiator Stop Leak - Part No. ASBP 73 is safe for all cooling system parts and is compatible with all antifreeze, including extended-life coolants and Dex-Cool. It prevents cooling system damage and stops leaks safely. It is safe for all metal, plastic and rubber cooling system parts. However, this sealer is temporary at best. It usually stops up your heat exchanger causing more damage. You will eventually have to repair the leak, but after using the sealer, we would always recommend fixing the problem by finding out exactly the cause of leak and then replacing the necessary parts. Yes, if you drain the coolant, the radiator stop leak would pour out with the drained coolant and you have to add radiator stop leak again.
