Bought this to flush the brake system on my wife's Civic since the dealer wanted ~$150 to do it. I was able to flush the brakes myself during a normal oil change/tire rotation maintenance. Took about 30 min to an hour and even with this equipment it only cost half of what the dealer wanted. I would say that the only downside is that this is a hand pump and working it can be a little tedious.

Works well in the heat
Had difficulty using in the cold as rubber becomes firm and will leak air. Very disappointing as I had to just give up and take the car in for the brake fluid flush.

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
I haven't used it a lot yet, but for what I have it's worked just fine. Pretty well built for the price.

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
I've used a few cheap bleed kits from different manufacturers, this is by-far the lowest quality one I have seen. I gave it 5-10 pumps to bleed the first brake caliper on my vehicle and the vacuum pump catastrophically failed, sending all sorts of small parts flying around my garage. Had to finish the job by just pumping the brakes.
Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
Used this to pull out overfilled transmission by 2.5 quarts done by a Avon Buick dealer that totally dropped the ball due lack of knowledge.
Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
Worked good had a vacuum leak on my hvac system in my jeep cherokee. Found it within 5 minutes of testing. Felt as if I cheated. Worked great hope to use to bleed the brakes soon.

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
worked 2 hrs. made the brakes worse the hose or the bleeder valve leaks air so you never get rid of air bubbles the little tube of white grease was nothing but full of air so I tried synthetic grease nothing worked piece of junk!

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
This is really a great vacuum pump. I used it to bleed a power steering pump, gear, hydroboost module, and cooler. it removed the trapped air easily and had no difficulty maintaining a vacuum. This also works great for brakes, but it should be noted that I believe the internal seals are not compatible with brake fluid. I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who don't drain the catch basin before it overfills and pulls fluid into the pump body itself thus compromising it's seals. Care should be used when bleeding brakes for this reason. I also think some people forget to loosen the master cylinder cover before they begin to bleed the brakes making pulling fluid all but impossible. All in all, great product.

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
This product is not what is shown in the Advance Auto video. The vacuum pump looks durable because it is metal.
Even with lots of grease I could not get a perfect seal and the pump would lose pressure. Using the one man method, the pump does not suck very much brake fluid out even with plenty of vacuum pressure.
I am returning this product and going to use better tubing material and a plastic bottle, plus have one of my "assistants" (my son) operate the brake pedal.

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
This is not at all what it pictured but figured I'd buy it anyway. First of all the had pump is plastic and feels real cheap in the hand. Seems as if the pump and everything its made of cannnot stand brake fluid on it. The guage case literally fell apart. The rubber "o" ring on the catch cup expanded to where it's way too big it fit back and seal properly seems as if the brake fluid expanded it. The one pictured seems better..it has to be because the one i got is pure trash

Comments about Actron Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder Kit:
I've changed my brakes many times but always bled them with the two-man method. This time I did them myself. I first bought a cheap $7 magnetic one-man system which broke on me after the first caliper. I then decided to scrap the $7 junker and buy this one. I'm happy that I did. It was very easy when I finally figured out to use teflon tape on the little oil nipple. After doing that the process was a breeze. I'd recommend this to friends and will let family members borrow this one.
