Actron Inductive Timing Light

Part No. CP7527 Warranty Details
The Actron inductive timing light is designed for standard base timing.

Actron's offers a broad range of timing lights that can help anyone from the occasional do-it-yourselfer to the serious mechanic. Correct ignition timing maintains top vehicle performance by firing the spark plug at the precise instant to ignite air and fuel in the cylinder. Use timing lights to set the timing on any engine (computer-controlled or not) that has a conventional distributor ignition system. Timing cannot be manually adjusted on cars without distributor ignition systems, but it is important to check computer timing to see if it might be the cause of engine problems.

Product Features:
  • Easy On/off touch control
  • All metal inductive pickup
  • Super bright Xenon flash
  • One touch control makes it easy to use
  • Durable, plated ABS housing
  • Heat resistant over molding on battery clips

This timing light worked for the first 5 minutes, then stopped working. I heard a slight click the last time I pulled the trigger, then nothing. Don't waste your hard earned cash on this one.

Comments about Actron Inductive Timing Light:

For the money, I don't think you can get much better. Sure it's made of cheap plastic and isn't the most appealing to the eye, but you are setting the timing on your engine. This isn't something you should be using on a regular basis unless you are a mechanic and then I'd suggest buying a better one. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because to me the light seems a little dim. As long as you are out of the bright sunlight, you won't have any trouble though.

Started engine, disconnected vacuum advance, hooked up timing light, pressed button on light, flashed for about 10 seconds, then went dead. What else can I say? I assume they'll exchange it locally. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the second one.
