I read other comments that said you had to tap the holes to accept the screws. This is not the case. The screws that where used in the original motor are self tapping screws, and this is how the original motor was installed. All in all the installation was easy and the motor worked perfectly, and easily moved the heavy window up and down. I am very satisfied. I was also please to be able to shop online and pick the part up at my local store. I also used a coupon I received in an email for a 20% savings. This was on top of a lower online price compared to the store price.

This product was less than half the price of the OEM part, which amazingly, is still available. The Advance lifetime warranty is important, because the gears used in this motor aren't very durable. Keep your receipt and plan to replace it often.

This motor drives the window into a stall which tends to shock load the gear set. The OEM gears were made to withstand this as well as resist decay from lubricants. The gears in this part not so much. I bought the part in 2012 to replace the OEM motor and gear assembly after 90,000 miles. The ACI part failed in 2015 with just a little more than 5,000 miles additional on the truck. Advance replaced it with no questions asked, and assured me they would replace this one if it failed too.

I love that lifetime warranty!

Comments about ACI Window Lift Motor:

Matched perfectly with the one that I took out. Very quiet, smooth operation. I was pleasantly surprised that it was in stock at my local store. Not sure about the quality of a Chinese made product. Time will tell. I'd buy it again. Hope I don't have to.

Comments about ACI Window Lift Motor:

All in all a pretty good product. The holes were not threaded, but that was easily fixed by using the existing bolts to tap the holes. One hole did strip out.
Also the gear box had very little grease in it, so I added more to it. Motor ran smoothly and did what it was supposed to do.
One thing to remember is that while you are in there, you should lube the window track and the regulator track as well for smooth operation.

Comments about ACI Window Lift Motor:

This is a low cost alternative to the Ford made windown motor. (Ford's motors were originally Siemens units, very high quality/high torque). This unit has two things that make it mediocre, in my mind:
                    1. The mounting holes aren't threaded. Not a problem to 'tap out' since the body is soft aluminum, but would be easy to mess up if you're a novice at this.
                    2. The motor doesn't possess the same torque as the original factory Ford unit. What I mean is that once installed, it will not roll your window up nearly as fast as the original would. That's a fact of nearly all the aftermarket motors, including Dorman.

There are 3 hex head screws that hold the motor in place. You need to remove all 3 screws.
