Comments about ACDelco Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

The most difficult part of the replacement was putting the new filter in, it's a tight fit! I used some 3-in-1 oil and a LARGE pair of channel locks, one jaw on the end of the filter and one jaw on the filter clamp and it slid right in!

Comments about ACDelco Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

The Delco filter is worth the extra money. I had been buying the "house brand" from a competitor. Recently, the competitor changed mfg facilities and thier filters don't even fit into the bracket without pounding them in.
No more cheap junk for me, going to stick with Delco, the original equipment supplier from now on.

I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 2WD w 4.3 engine. Where is this fuel filter located on the car and do I need special tools to replace it?
Asked on 9/21/2012 by Scotty from Vidor, Tx

                A:

Steps to replace the fuel filter: 1. Unscrew the gas cap from the gas tank to relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel filter. 2. Crawl under the truck and locate the fuel filter under the passenger's side cab of the truck. The fuel filter on the 1998 Chevrolet Blazer is mounted inside of the frame rail on the passenger's side. 3. Put the catch pan under the fuel filter to catch the little bit of excess fuel that will come out of the fuel lines and the fuel filter. 4. Remove the fuel line with the plastic end by squeezing the plastic end and turning it until it unlocks from the fuel filter tube. When squeezing the plastic end, turn the fuel line and pull it back at the same time and the fuel line will come off of the tube. 5. Remove the fuel line from the other side of the fuel filter with a 9/16 wrench. Turn the head of the fuel line counter clockwise to loosen and remove the fuel line. 6. Slide the fuel filter out of the round bracket that is holding the fuel filter in place. Discard the fuel filter into the catch pan. 7. Push the new fuel filter into the round bracket. Make sure that the flow arrow on the fuel filter is facing the engine. 8. Put the fuel line with the plastic end on the fuel filter tube by pushing the line straight on to the tube until you feel the plastic end lock in place. Then gently pull back on the fuel line to make sure that is locked on to the fuel filter. 9. Put the other fuel line onto the fuel filter by screwing the head of the fuel line onto the the fuel filter tube clockwise. Tighten the fuel line down securely with the 9/16 wrench. 10. Screw the gas cap back on to the gas tank. Then turn the ignition key on and off three times to prime the fuel filter full of fuel. This is to keep air from getting into the fuel system and making it harder for the truck to crank. 11. Crank the truck and inspect the fuel filter and the fuel lines while the engine is running. Then turn the truck off. Things you will need: 9/16 wrench, New fuel filter, Small catch pan.
