I really liked ordering online and then picking it up at the store. Little bummed out that the part is that expensive for a part that, from what I gather, has very little impact on the function of the vehicle. Everything I have read says the part is a way for Chevrolet to make money on a pretty useless part. Couldn't agree more. No bad reflection on Advance. Awesome experience as far as I am concerned. Will do it again

Ordered as best price for high priced item, 3 trips to store to pick up and when doing install discovered that parts were mismatched as hose fittings did not match up. Had to pick up from another store and returned this for refund. CSR checked another box on shelf and those would have matched - how disappointing that I got the BAD part. Should have checked fittings before starting installation!

Comments about ACDelco Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Valve Solenoid Kit:

The kit contains a filter and valve. GM used permanently connected hard plastic tube to connect to each so the tubing had to be broken to disconnect the old parts. I was able to reconnect the new parts using the same tubing and shrink tubing and it fixed the problem. Too much for what your receive. Should at least come with hoses to reconnect. GM probably has $15 dollars in cost and sells for [$]. Highway Robbery!!

Comments about ACDelco Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Valve Solenoid Kit:

This included a solenoid valve and a breather cap. It does not include the hard plastic line that runs between the valve and cannister or the rubber line from the valve to the breather cap. I had to rig some heater hose and clamps to get it to fit as the hard plastic line is not detachable from the old valve. For the price of [$] it should at least include the plastic and rubber hoses.

Only included the solenoid and breather cap, no tubing or connectors. The connection going to the cannister is hard plastic and cannot be reused, I had to use rubber tubing and clamps to make it work. Likewise the tubing for the breather was difficult to remove from the old piece and atach to the new. At the price of [$] the tubing and new connectors should be included, it would still be overpriced but at least it would fit properly.

Hi Donald, glad question! If you look underneath the vehicle on drivers side you could find a plastic rectangular shaped box called evap canister and the vent valve is located near to the canister. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

Hi Chris, glad to assist you! Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector. Disconnect the canister pipe from the vent valve. Push in the retainer and remove the existing canister vent valve from the fuel tank clip or mounting bracket. Discard the old valve. Cut back the existing canister pipe approximately 51mm (2in) to remove the quick connect end. Install the new canister vent valve to the fuel tank clip or mounting bracket. Cut bulk 5/8" heater hose to a length of approximately 76mm (3in). Install the hose between the vent valve and the canister pipe and secure using clamps. Attach bulk 5/8" heater hose to the vent valve port and secure using a clamp. Run a length as needed along the frame rail routing to the area above the transmission. Cut the hose to determined length and install the supplied filter box. Secure using a clamp. Remove the transmission support and lower the transmission assembly as necessary to allow for access to the new filter box location. Secure the filter box to the transmission vent hose just forward of the hose tee-section using a tie strap. DO NOT pinch or restrict the transmission vent hose. The filter box opening should be pointing downward. Raise the transmission and re install the transmission support. Connect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector.Tie strap the hose as needed along the frame rail in order to keep the hose away from pinch-points and heat sources. Lower the vehicle.

                          A:

Common causes of this code p0455 are a loose or missing gas cap or a gas cap that has a bad seal. If the gas cap is good and has not been left loose, the other cause could be a bad evap vent solenoid valve. If the valve sticks open, the same code will set. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.
