Replaced all 8 on 2001 F-150 with a 5.4 they were on for about 8,000 miles before the first one quit.I have added about 15,000 more miles and 3 more have quit. The first one that quit I replaced with a B/W and it has given me no problems, the rest that quit I also replaced with B/W. Can't say I noticed any proformance increase with them before they quit either.

Comments about Accel Super Coil:

Every Accel coil purchased has failed on my two expeditions in which these Accel coils were used. Some coils failed in only months, while others failed within 20,000 miles or less. I will never buy an Accel coil in the future.

        Comments about Accel Super Coil:

Bought 2 of these to replace #4 and #6 in my 1997 Ford Expedition 5.4 after the OEM Motorcraft coils gave up after only 6 months, just wanted to try something different with hopes that they would last longer than the OEM, didn't expect an improvement, boy was i surprised, just using 2 of these made a noticeable difference, going to get 6 more and see how long they last.

Have replaced several coils on my 98 Expedition over the years. Have used these every time and have not had one fail yet. Easy to install & reliable. Replaced another one Saturday. No reason to call the mechanic if you can use a ratchet, it is a "plug and play" part as long as you know what cylinder it is on.

Works as OEM cop replacement. Have replaced all the cop's in my ford expedition 5.4. This seems so far like a good choice. Only has been about 2 weeks since I've replaced with this cop. Went right on, no issues or worries. Internal spring looks good nice and tight. The rubber boot looks like it's made better than the cheaper aftermarket parts that are available out there. The head seems good and sturdy. Don't care for the bright yellow color but I guess it's fine, makes it easier to tell which ones were changed

Replaced all 8 coils and plugs on my F-150. First one just went out six days after warranty expiration of 90 days. Had only driven 2000 miles since replacement. Bad news is, I've got 7 more of these coils on my truck. Not happy!

                    Comments about Accel Super Coil:

You can't go wrong, try this product now they have an eight pack of coils, you can buy eight for the price of six. I drive ford 4.6's and 5.4's and these coils work better than dealer and the more expensive coils. The only problem I have had is that there is a ninety day warranty on these coils, but the good thing about Advance Auto is that the managers aren't afraid to take care of the customers. Had problems with coil packs after warranty and managers replaced them no questions asked. I used the other coil packs and always had problems at highway cruising speeds. The old coil packs just wouldn't put out the Kv to run engine smooth, replaced with Accel coil packs and ran smoother. I can't tell you I had more horse power and torq.. Because I don't have a dyno. to check the horse power. All I can say is that the vehicles ran better than they did with the old coil packs. So I would recommend these coil packs, I use them every day.

You would want to change all your coils over to either accel or motorcraft. You could use standard plugs. To make sure you get the right aftermarket coil you would really want to get the number off your factory coil. • Q:

Why does this part show that it will fit a 4.6 4v motor? The 4.6 4v Accel number is 140034. This part number will only work with 4.6 2v motors, such as an f-150, or mustang gt. Perhaps the company should look into this, as there is a large demand for high performance 4v parts.

                        A:

This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or any longer warranty period that may be printed on your original sales receipt. In addition, you must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Replacement parts are warranted for 90 days from the date of exchange or the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is longer. Warranty periods may vary from part to part.

does this part only come in a singly packaged state? I want to replace everyone of mine and 320.00 just doesn't seem right?
