if you have a vortec motor dont waste your time or money buying the non vortec rotor. I found this rotor online and have never had it offered as an option for replacement at the store. The replacement one suggested in the store does not fit right and you end up snapping the tips off of it and using the screws to support it and you will get an premature failure.

I usually do not write reviews on products and I have always been an Accel fan, until this part. I bought the cap even though there were mostly bad reviews and I wish I never had. The 98 Suburban I put this cap on would throw the P0345 run extremely rough and even lose power on hills. I hope that anyone planning on ordering this cap will think twice and go with the Delphi or AC Delco. Yes they cost more but will not give you the headaches this distributor cap does. I am saddened that Accel would produce such poor quality parts.

      Comments about Accel Distributor Cap:

bought a used 96 chevy k1500 5.7l figured tune up on so bought ac delco parts but ran short of money for cap so I bought the accel cap thought I used them before and was always happy with it but a week later I came home from a trip to Pittsburgh 80 miles to and from and shut it off and went to bed. woke up to go to work next morning and immeditly c.e.l came on and flashing p0300 random misfire and trufully I didn't know were to start so I did the logical new fuel filter pump checked timng even scan tooled it so I spent 350 on a new fuel injection system bc they are known to fail on these vortec motors but still misfire so after hours and day of headache I pulled the distributor cap off and replaced it with old corroded one bam ran like a champ took a meter to the accel cap found out it shorted between 3 and 7 don't waste ur time and money like I did buy oem or bdw

          Comments about Accel Distributor Cap:

Back when I lived under the hood of much older Chevys, Accel was a go-to brand for me. I NEVER had a failure and always saw an increase in performance with their products.

I put this cap on, along with one of their rotors, and it left me stranded on a jammed interstate with my large family when it was almost 100-degrees outside.

It shorted between contacts for cylinders 3 and 7 (confirmed by Chevy dealership).

It's a distributor cap. Quality control should be exceedingly reliable with such a simple component, but judging from other reviews it's not a priority at Accel any longer.

I put a BWD on my Burb to replace it and haven't had any issues with it. Though I'm learning that a '96 Burb runs better with OE parts on it. If I needed another one, I'd get an OE.

I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Actually, I shy away from the brand now.

          Comments about Accel Distributor Cap:

I hadn't used Accel for quite a number of years, but needed a new cap and thought this one would be superior for my Suburban.

Long story short, roughly one week after I put it on, cap shorted between cyl 3 and 7. Left me stranded in HOT summer temps in the middle of a downtown major metro area with three kids (under age 6), my wife, and mother-in-law in the car.

The only distributor cap I've ever seen fail. I didn't think Accel would be the one to do it.

No, I would not buy it again.

            Comments about Accel Distributor Cap:

I did a full tune up and the burb started missing check engine light started flashing and the code was multi misfire that lead me to the distributor but I knew that the parts were brand new and a brand I could trust so I payed for a pro to look at it and sure enough he showed me my brand new part had an internal flaw.

            Comments about Accel Distributor Cap:

Had two of these caps. First one made it 14k miles before starting some minor misfiring due to corrosion. 2nd one made it less than 100 miles before very suddenly causing MAJOR misfires. In light of my experience and other reviews, I'd say the quality control on these caps is probably not great. Stay away!

98 Chevy C1500-truck was running fine, replaced all tune-up parts, 100,000 miles, it was due, plugs, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, and even wires. start- up with a miss. checked and rechecked everything, studied the internet, rechecked wires 4 times. scoured engine for vacuum and wire problems. read a couple reviews of this cap, and finally decided to put on my old cap, started up to a smooth running engine, will use AC DELCO everything from now on
