I have a known leak in my A/C system that emptied approximately 3 weeks since my last freon charge. In the middle of a hot humid 3 day trip to Niagara Falls, my A/C vents started blowing "hellfire." Tries to get this problem fixed at several road side towns were a waste of time..."sorry, you need an appointment." Frustrated and desperate, I pulled into a Advance Auto and the salesdude recommended AC Pro. I installed this stuff in the parking lot and in less than 10 mins I was back on the highway in A/C heaven. Note: My previous A/C charge (lasted 3 weeks) was done by a reputable shop in Long Island...they injected dye to detect the leak. My "desperate" charge with A/C Pro is going on 4 weeks with no signs of leakage...still seeing green and bubble in sightglass. Don't know if it's the sealing properties of this stuff, but I'm a COOL happy dude!

Horrible product ... BUYERS BEWARE !!!! Relative and I walked in to purchase a recharge kit .I have been a mechanic for over 8 years and used the old style recharge blue hose and have done this more than a dozen times ... and somehow I got talked into buying this product by the sales guys
I figured its the same thing no big deal only in a new version made of plastic with a gauge that didnt even work .. when I tried to recharge the vehicle as soon I started to screw in the recharge hose it started to leak all around the so called trigger handle and proceeded to leaking all over my hand ... quickly unplugged the can and put it in the trash can and wait for it to finish bleeding allover the trashcan .. when I went back to complain about the product I was told I did it wrong and didn't know what I was doing ... followed by the sales clerk saying I used too much force and broke the recharging hose ... I felt insulted so I demanded a refund and bought at another parts store ... second and last time I go to advance auto parts for anything .

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

I used one can to charge a BMW, a Chevy and a Kia. It seemed to charge the A/C system in each vehicle and still appears to have some product left in the can. However, the gauge did not reflect any change during the charging process of any of the vehicles. Followed directions diligently (under supervision of my wife :-) ) and could not get the gauge to reflect any change from the initial "system evaluation" step reading. Haven't had any real warm days since the process...I will wait and see. So far the vehicles "seem" to be performing cooler than prior to the process.

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

Tried it on my 2009 Ford F150 - gauge didn't work at first but didn't know it at the time - once the gauge started working, I had already overcharged the AC. Had to take it to a mechanic to fix it - he had to remove 3 ounces of freon. Had plenty left in the can so I decided to try it on my 2003 Nissan Altima - Worked GREAT. Coolest air in that vehicle since we purchased it. I would recommend the product but I would also make sure the gauge worked. It was very simple to do and very pleased at the cold air it provided IMMEDIATELY in the Nissan Altima. It even cools now when sitting still which it hasn't done in years. Give it a try.

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

The longer hose on this model was necessary to reach my low pressure port. Always locate your port before buying. A cheaper, short hose model may work for you. Also the larger container was handy to have as I needed quite a bit of refrigerant as indicated by the included gauge. Nice to be able to reuse. I'll check my pressure in a couple of months to determine if I have a serious leak.

The air conditioner in my 2000 Sienna stopped working right in the middle of several 90 degree days. I didn't want to put thousands of dollars in such an old car to replace the air conditioning. I read about AC Pro online and decided to try it. My husband helped me install it. It was just in time. We had to drive 30 miles in the rain and of course we needed the windows closed. Not only did the air conditioning work, the interior of the cabin got so cold that we needed to turn it down to the lowest setting. We were comfortable and dry !!! Great product for the money!

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

My wife's vehicle required A/C service. I remember years ago when DIY kits were common before needing the ID card to buy the freon. They were clumsy and difficult to use. Most of all, dangerous. AC Pro changed the game in the DIY AC market. This product was easy to use and worked as advertised. Within 15 minutes my wife's vehicle had colding blowing AC again. The instructions were really easy to follow. No expensive gauges or equipment required.

The only con I could think of was the size the refrigerant can. 20 oz didn't seem like enough refrigerant to charge the vehicle. My wife vehicle required 23 oz. My repair required the purchase of an additional can.

Bottomline is it really is simple to use. If you are a DIY shadetree guy, you will have no problem with this product. The average joe who might change their oil once in awhile, no problem as well. The only guy that will have a problem with this product will be the local mechanic who charges $90 for A/C service. Then charges you again for checking for the "leaks" that he can never find with the expensive dyes and special lights.

OMG! Where as this been all my life. In the past I've had to drop off my car at the shop, find a ride to and from work, then pay anywhere from one hundred bucks and more, just to have my a/c charged. I purchased this product, not expecting much, but man, does this work. A LOT less than paying to have my a/c professional charged and only took about 10 minutes. I will NEVER pay a professional to charge my a/c ever again. THANK YOU A/C Pro.

                          A:

Hi Teddy, glad to help you! Here is the instructions to add freon: Attach the recharging hoses to your system. The hoses from the gauges attach to the compressor of your air conditioning system. Attach the shorter hose to the can of Freon. Open the valve on the can for several seconds to purge the air from the system. Tighten the hose connection again and close the valve. Start the car's engine and turn on the air conditioner on HIGH. Allow the refrigerant to enter the system by slowly opening the valve for the low-side manifold. Make sure to hold the can upright, not allowing any liquid Freon to enter the system. Close the valve and remove the hose from the low-side fitting after the can is empty. Be careful when removing the can as there is still some Freon in the can. Repeat these steps if your system needs more than one can of Freon. Adding too much Freon is worse than not having enough and can damage the air conditioning system. If you are still facing the same problem you can buy an adapter and try to add freon.

Hi Bill! The issue on your Altima could be the loss of refrigerant. However, it is advised that a Section 609 of EPA Standards mechanic be the only one to perform anything with that type of system [r12] as well as r134a due to its effects on the environment. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified A/C mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

                      • Q:

I have a 2009 gulfstream Crescendo motorhome with a diesel engine in the back.
The connections for the Air conditioner for the front cab are under the hood up front. The in and out ports are located up front and very easily assessable. The connectors are same as in my car. My question is, does anyone know if these vehicles use the same Freon as the car for the cab air conditioner.

Yes, with reference to your inquiry on the AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.) - part# ACP-100, since your Gulf Stream Crescendo is a 2009 model, then it would take this refrigerant, since it’s R134a.
