I have a known leak in my A/C system that emptied approximately 3 weeks since my last freon charge. In the middle of a hot humid 3 day trip to Niagara Falls, my A/C vents started blowing "hellfire." Tries to get this problem fixed at several road side towns were a waste of time..."sorry, you need an appointment." Frustrated and desperate, I pulled into a Advance Auto and the salesdude recommended AC Pro. I installed this stuff in the parking lot and in less than 10 mins I was back on the highway in A/C heaven. Note: My previous A/C charge (lasted 3 weeks) was done by a reputable shop in Long Island...they injected dye to detect the leak. My "desperate" charge with A/C Pro is going on 4 weeks with no signs of leakage...still seeing green and bubble in sightglass. Don't know if it's the sealing properties of this stuff, but I'm a COOL happy dude!

Tried it on my 2009 Ford F150 - gauge didn't work at first but didn't know it at the time - once the gauge started working, I had already overcharged the AC. Had to take it to a mechanic to fix it - he had to remove 3 ounces of freon. Had plenty left in the can so I decided to try it on my 2003 Nissan Altima - Worked GREAT. Coolest air in that vehicle since we purchased it. I would recommend the product but I would also make sure the gauge worked. It was very simple to do and very pleased at the cold air it provided IMMEDIATELY in the Nissan Altima. It even cools now when sitting still which it hasn't done in years. Give it a try.

    • Inaccurate Gauge

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

I have been charging AC systems for years. Never had a problem. I charged my 1996 Crown Vic with this 3 days ago, and the compressor suddenly seized up today. Likely cause is overcharging, however I was very careful to keep the charge levels in the green and not tip the can. The only conclusion I can reach is that the gauge itself was not accurate, or the oil was incompatible.

Thanks for costing me a thousand bucks.

For $39.99, you can not go wrong. It was extremely simple to use!First adjust the ambient temperature(starting from 70 degrees F to 90 degrees F), plug it into the LOW pressure port, and squeeze the trigger having the cannister at a horizontal position(so the liquid flows out into the hose)and then turn the cannister upright to see what the pressure is at, and repeat until you reach a desired PSI within the 'V'. Will definitely purchase again.

My AC went out and the mechanic told me that it would cost around 200 to fill and recharge the system and he wouldn't know for sure if it was the compressor until he filled the system. I wasn't about to pay 200 for the opportunity to find out if it would cost me more money. I thought for the price this was worth a shot and was it ever. Took about 10 minutes and my AC was as cold as ever. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to fill and charge their AC.

One of the most poorly designed products I have ever seen. The adapter that screws on to the can immediately cross threaded, causing me to lose an entire can of freon. I ended up throwing the piece of junk in the trash.

Honda Pilot SE 2008, AC blew warm air so its either to the mechanic or DIY. Looking at the video it seemed easy. I used it in the parking lot of the AAP. I used 20oz can but the meter went close to the half way mark. started to blow cool air. I got another 12oz, the meter moved just passed the half way mark. It got colder. It was quick and easy. Enjoying the cold air again. Let's see how long it lasts.

Hi Ryder, good question! If you drive an older vehicle (pre-1994), the air conditioning system contains R12 refrigerant (Freon). As long as the A/C system has no leaks and it cooling normally, there is no need to convert from R12 to the new "ozone safe" R134a refrigerant. But if your A/C system has lost it's charge because of a leak, collision damage, or the need to open it to replace a compressor, hose or other component, you may have to convert from R12 to R134a when you recharge the system with this R134a refrigerant.
