I have over 270,000 miles on my 2002 Pontiac Aztek and over the years and miles the refrigerant has gradually escaped. I have charged many cars back in the "old days" of R-12, but I seldom work on cars anymore and I have never charged a system that uses R-134a until now.

It is very easy to use, even for someone who knows little about cars. This will work on any vehicle that uses R-134a, it will NOT work on older vehicles that use R-12. I appreciate the long braided hose as the service port is tough to get to and located between the front exhaust manifold (hot) and the fan (moving). If you have such a vehicle I suggest putting the hose on and taking it off with the engine not running (although you must have the engine running and air conditioning on in order to charge it).

One thing I should note: If your low side service port is on a suction accumulator (aluminum tank near the firewall), you should not have a problem. However, if your low side service port is on the suction line feeding directly into the compressor (like mine) I suggest keeping the can upright whenever the trigger is pulled. Shake the can vigorously before connecting and shake it while charging.

My air conditioning works like new again!

Tried it on my 2009 Ford F150 - gauge didn't work at first but didn't know it at the time - once the gauge started working, I had already overcharged the AC. Had to take it to a mechanic to fix it - he had to remove 3 ounces of freon. Had plenty left in the can so I decided to try it on my 2003 Nissan Altima - Worked GREAT. Coolest air in that vehicle since we purchased it. I would recommend the product but I would also make sure the gauge worked. It was very simple to do and very pleased at the cold air it provided IMMEDIATELY in the Nissan Altima. It even cools now when sitting still which it hasn't done in years. Give it a try.

No, Trish, you will need 30 oz refrigerant to fill your 1.9 lbs system. Therefore, you will need to buy two of this AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.) (Part No. ACP-100N/ACP-10) container to fill your system.

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer. I have had the engine replaced, and if I remember correctly, the mechanic told me he had to empty the refrigerant to make the change. If that is so, can this product be used or is there any chance that if I add this, it will mix with any other refrigerant and cause a problem? I do not have any ac at this time. I had my car engine replaced in the winter so I have not thought about the need until I entered the Georgia summer heat!

                              Thanks!

                                A:

Hi Angel! If the refrigeration circuit seems to be working (refrigerant in the system, compressor running and building pressure), but there is still no cooling, the problem might be an obstruction in the orifice tube (located in the high pressure hose between the condenser in the front of the radiator, and the evaporator located in the passenger compartment). A blockage here will prevent the refrigerant from entering the evaporator or recirculating through the refrigeration circuit. If the orifice tube is plugged, the high side pressure reading will be lower than normal, and the low side reading will also be lower than normal because no refrigerant is circulating through the system. If the refrigeration circuit seems to be functioning normally (compressor running, frost or condensation on the high pressure line from the condenser to the evaporator), but no cool air is blowing out of the ducts inside the car (and the blower is working), the fault is likely a BLEND AIR door that is stuck in the HEAT position, or possibly a badly clogged cabin air filter that is restricting airflow. Another possibility would be a fault in the automatic climate control system such as a ad interior temperature sensor or control module. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

This can has leak seal and the ACP 105R-134a Professional Formula Refrigerant w/ Advanced Leak Sealer 12 oz.
The one with the hose does not state it has advanced leak seal. Does it have Advanced leak seal like the refill can does?

Hi big42, happy to help! No, the ACP-100N does not come with an advanced stop leak formula, however it does have system safe stop leak sealer formula which stops most common A/C leaks in hoses, gaskets and O-Rings.

I used this on a 1994 Trans Am that was low on refrigerant. As I started to fill, the compressor kicked on until the gauge hit 100%. The compressor stopped working and the car doesn't cool. What did I do wrong and how do I go about fixing it? Did I overfill it?

Hi CC! The symptoms of an overcharged A/C system are exactly the same as a system that is undercharged: warm air out of the vents. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it, nor provide you with a 100% answer. I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

No, Jake, this AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant (Part No. ACP-100N/ACP-10) is not compatible with your 1993 Dodge Caravan. It can only be used on any vehicle from 1994-current, unless it is a Hybrid vehicle.
