I have over 270,000 miles on my 2002 Pontiac Aztek and over the years and miles the refrigerant has gradually escaped. I have charged many cars back in the "old days" of R-12, but I seldom work on cars anymore and I have never charged a system that uses R-134a until now.

It is very easy to use, even for someone who knows little about cars. This will work on any vehicle that uses R-134a, it will NOT work on older vehicles that use R-12. I appreciate the long braided hose as the service port is tough to get to and located between the front exhaust manifold (hot) and the fan (moving). If you have such a vehicle I suggest putting the hose on and taking it off with the engine not running (although you must have the engine running and air conditioning on in order to charge it).

One thing I should note: If your low side service port is on a suction accumulator (aluminum tank near the firewall), you should not have a problem. However, if your low side service port is on the suction line feeding directly into the compressor (like mine) I suggest keeping the can upright whenever the trigger is pulled. Shake the can vigorously before connecting and shake it while charging.

My air conditioning works like new again!

Tried it on my 2009 Ford F150 - gauge didn't work at first but didn't know it at the time - once the gauge started working, I had already overcharged the AC. Had to take it to a mechanic to fix it - he had to remove 3 ounces of freon. Had plenty left in the can so I decided to try it on my 2003 Nissan Altima - Worked GREAT. Coolest air in that vehicle since we purchased it. I would recommend the product but I would also make sure the gauge worked. It was very simple to do and very pleased at the cold air it provided IMMEDIATELY in the Nissan Altima. It even cools now when sitting still which it hasn't done in years. Give it a try.

Comments about AC Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (20 oz.):

I was a mechanic for 35 years with my own shop. I had professional a/c equipment. Did a lot of a/c repairs. Sold the business and retired so now I'm just another DIYer. The a/c on my truck was not working as good as it should so I bought this product from Advance Auto Parts. It was excellent! I was amazed at how simple it was to use. Probably recharged my a/c in less time than it used to take hooking up the pro equipment to a vehicle. And at a good price. Buy it!!!

Simple to use....hose will only fit correct fitting on your cars A/C line so I could not mess that up. My compressor did not kick on so the pressure reading was too high to start with so I was nervous and added a little bit of coolant at a time. once the coolant got in the line, my compressor kicked in and everything went just as the directions stated. Whole process to 10-15 minutes and now the 2000 Audi has very cold air again. Bought online with discount so it was about a 32 dollar fix versus taking to the shop.

Price was great compared to what the garage has been charging for an AC recharge...I recommend it as a quick, easy, economical solution for restoring your AC back to COLD AIR!!

                            A:

Hi Angel! If the refrigeration circuit seems to be working (refrigerant in the system, compressor running and building pressure), but there is still no cooling, the problem might be an obstruction in the orifice tube (located in the high pressure hose between the condenser in the front of the radiator, and the evaporator located in the passenger compartment). A blockage here will prevent the refrigerant from entering the evaporator or recirculating through the refrigeration circuit. If the orifice tube is plugged, the high side pressure reading will be lower than normal, and the low side reading will also be lower than normal because no refrigerant is circulating through the system. If the refrigeration circuit seems to be functioning normally (compressor running, frost or condensation on the high pressure line from the condenser to the evaporator), but no cool air is blowing out of the ducts inside the car (and the blower is working), the fault is likely a BLEND AIR door that is stuck in the HEAT position, or possibly a badly clogged cabin air filter that is restricting airflow. Another possibility would be a fault in the automatic climate control system such as a ad interior temperature sensor or control module. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

Hi CC! The symptoms of an overcharged A/C system are exactly the same as a system that is undercharged: warm air out of the vents.
