Comments about 3M Super Strength Molding Tape, 1/2" x 5 ft:

I purchased rain shields for my windows and the tape on the shields did not hold the corners. I purchased this tape to fix the areas where the original tape came loose.
I would suggest that the tape have the protective coating on both sides so I would not have to touch the glue when applying to the surface. I had to be very careful to not touch the glue area or the tape glue would be contaminated.

Repainted car, used this to stick the emblems back on. Clean everything, apply tape, trim, stick to car. It's fairly difficult to remove.

Yes, Bobbie, you should be able to use this 3M Super Strength Molding Tape, 1/2" x 5 ft (Part No. 03609) to reattach the window vent. It is ideal for attaching vehicle body side moldings, trim and emblems.

              • Q:

I would like to know the best way to remove the old tape and prepare the surface to reapply new tape to the same area. Is there a glue remover that I can use for this product that will not affect the paint?

                  A:

Hi Rich, I'm happy to help you! You'll need the WD-40 Multi-use penetrant/lubricant - Part No. 49000/110108. This will work just fine. Squirt a little on and work your thumb nail or whatever under the tape and spray a little more WD-40 and it should come right off.

Can it be used to fix my sagging headliner
Asked on 9/24/2015 by Roxanne from New Iberia

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

Sorry, Roxanne, this 3M Super Strength Molding Tape, 1/2" x 5 ft (Part No. 03609) does not help with the sagging headliners. If the headliner has separated from the backing, then you may get a new headliner and then use 3M General Trim Adhesive, 18.1 oz (Part No. 08088) to reattach.

Yes; I fastened my bug deflector and my spoiler to my vehicle with this tape. Also use it for chrome dressup parts for my bike and they stay on at 65 mph.
