I received the 3M Safe - Release Painter's Tape Advanced + Multi - Surface with Edge Lock Paint - Line Protector 2093 for free from 3M to try out and review.I must say I wasn't expecting much, it's only tape.Well I have to say my expectations were completely crushed,IT WAS AWESOME.It out performed all other tapes I have tried(with disappointment) to date.I used it on every surface ,wood and plastic trim boards ,glass windows, and metal cabinets and on an iron lamp. The lines were neat and sharp after removing the tape from the baseboards which sat overnight. You should make sure your entire area to be painted is free of dirt, grease ,smoke, and wax from like candles and crayons cause if not the tape will not adhere .I was amazed at the quickness I was able to finish projects,I didn't have to redo anything I painted. I had some wood trim boards I was painting needed to do an 1/8 in. stripe on them(1/4 in.) .I measured and taped it,painted it and left it with the tape standing up in the air over night.I was impressed when came back to it the next morning to see the Painter's tape still standing in the air.I slowly and carefully removed the tape which stuck to the board. So I got a wet towel and moistened the tape it the came off .The line was neat and no bleeding or seepage. The next thing i painted I had to tape around the edges of a glass pane so I could repaint the wood frame.Again it work terrific;didn't stick to the glass when removing it.Although there was a few places the tape had not stuck to the the metal glass after being painted. up the cloth portions near Next I got really brave and decided to paint my deck chairs. They are metal and cloth so I taped the cloth portions near the metal parts I would be painting. It did take more pressure and patience when taping the cloth. You got to press it firmly for a couple of minutes a little bit at a time.I then taped paper over the rest of the cloth. It took a bit more time cause I was using spray paint on this and had to be sure all cloth was covered.Sprayed the chairs Waited 30 minutes before removing the tape.Great job!! Not a single spay out of place and the tape remove quickly and easily. I really love the 3M Safe -Release Painter's Tape Advance + Multi Surface with Edge-Lock Paint Line Protector 2093 . Very happy i had the chance to receive this product for free from 3M(tm) to use and review.I will definitely will continue to use this tape along with all the other great products 3M makes.Thank you for this opportunity.LOVE 3M(tm)

I received this 3M Safe-Release Painter's Tape for free from 3M to test out; however, I rent an apartment and was not able to test the tape out on my walls so I got a bit creative. I used the tape on a stretched canvas that I had lying around. I stuck the tape to the canvas to create a geometric triangle-based design. I did not plan the project very well to begin with, as I really wanted to see how the tape worked and get a feel for it. I say that my planning was poor because I am now left with the tape lines and will have to add more layers to the painting in order to cover all of the white. Anyway, let me get to the details. The tape did an okay job of sticking to the canvas. It was easy to tear off the roll and position where I wanted it. I pressed it down as best I could, considering the majority of the canvas is "soft" and not supported, except for where the wooden frame is. It stayed in place for the most part as I painted. I used a regular artist-type paintbrush for some colors/areas and a foam brush for other colors/areas. Based on my results, the foam brush worked much better with the tape. As you can see in the photos (hopefully), the tape helped to create the shapes. Some of the lines came out pretty crisp, while others had quite a bit of bleeding at the edges. I have plenty of tape left, so I plan to try it out on a stiff board-type canvas I have and also on some other DIY projects with harder surfaces. I will try to write another review after those are completed. As for now, I can only speak from what I experienced. In my opinion, the tape works decently, but did not knock my socks off. The best features are that it sticks easily, stays in place pretty well, and can be used to create most any shape or line you want. It holds its edge/creates clean lines sometimes, but you may experience bleeding on others. I am planning to cut pieces of it to put over the shapes I have on my canvas now so that I can keep those the colors they are and be able to fill in the white spaces left by the tape. It tears by hand really easily and does not gunk up scissors when you use them for cutting. Overall, I rated the tape 3 stars based on my experience with it.

3M sent this to me. It is a fantastic aid to painting edges, and for other general purpose tasks which require a masking tape.

Great for paint and other uses

Comments about 3M Scotch-Blue Painter's Tape for Multi-Surfaces - 1" x 60 yd.:

I received this for free and I love using it. I had to do some painting in the playroom and it came in handy. At time the paint seeped in a TINY bit, but that can be user error. Still, much better than other brands. I also like using it for hanging up my child's drawings on the newly painted walls with the left over tape!

Do not use on cars

Comments about 3M Scotch-Blue Painter's Tape for Multi-Surfaces - 1" x 60 yd.:

I recently used this to mask off my car while I tinted the tail lights. After removing the tape I noticed some of the clear coat came off with it. I thought a safe release tape wouldn't do that but I guess not. It worked well on all other areas of the car though.

An average product

Comments about 3M Scotch-Blue Painter's Tape for Multi-Surfaces - 1" x 60 yd.:

I received this product free from 3M to test and provide feedback to them. I came away disappointed, like with most other 3M tapes. I didn't like how thin the tape is, which causes it to sliver and tear by itself when putting it on a hand masker machine, and sometimes even just pulling the tape by hand. The adhesion and edge-locking capabilities are not ideal as well.

This is a great quality masking tape though I have not yet used it for painting, it does a good job with the myriad of other tasks. (I have a painting project in mind for it which will put it to the test as far as clean lines go.)
