My Headlight were very yellow and hazy, light output sucked bad.
I followed the dirrections and had both headlights looking great in less than 1 hour. They do not look new so don't expect that but they are a 300% improvement and much safer too.

The one thing that was not included that I bought was the Blue Magic Headlight SLR this is a UV protector that should make this repair last.

The polish also cleans DVDs, CDs, glasses and Touch screens very well.

Comments about 3M Headlight Lens Restoration System:

Others have posted great comments, so I won't repeat them. I will add to keep the disk flat against the surface and use multiple sheets of the 500 grit and remove all deep swirl marks and any ridges before moving on to the 800 grit.

The kit does take some skill to use effectively. Not for the inexperienced or easily intimidated. You will need a corded drill or multiple batteries for a cordless to complete both headlights.

Sand at low speed and keep it moving or it will melt the surface but otherwise this kit does a really fantastic job of making cloudy plastic headlights clear as glass.

This product exceeded my expectations. I was amazed at how bad my lens were. After following the clear and simple directions. My lights look like new. You won't believe how easy it is. One note: Don't be in a hurry with the drill, keep the drill at a steady controllable speed. Taping off your pant is a must, because if your drill gets away from you, the tape can save you. Cover all chrome too. Awesome product, does what it should, money well spent.

2000 Plymouth Neon. They're not as good as new, but about 90% better. I applied multiple coats of Turtle Wax to protect them afterward. The whole process took probably 2 hours but wasn't very difficult... If you like fixing things, it's actually kind of fun. My drill battery died halfway through the second light, so I had to finish the next day. Both lights are now shiny like the one on the lower left (the one on the right just seems less shiny in this picture because of the camera angle).

I purchased this product for my BMW 7 Series passenger side headlight which was frosted looking. My first time using the kit left me with results that weren't very pleasing. Several weeks later on a clear sunny Sunday afternoon with nothing to do, I decided to give my head light another application. this particular time I went a lot slower with each step. I reduced the speed my electric drill and I applied the clarity formula several times. The results were absolutely amazing. I'm very pleased with the results.

I have a 1996 Grand Marquis that had really YUCK headlight crud from sun fade. I bought this product and was a little skeptical to be honest. I read the directions TWICE before starting, and you need to do it to! Take the time to mask off around the headlights. You are NOT manly enough to hold that drill while sanding within a quarter inch of the headlight edges....no you're not. Does a nice job if you follow the directions and you might even have enough stuff to do a second vehicle. One thing they didn't mention, but I did figured out. When you get the drill attachment out, the final stage buffing pad is VELCROED to the tool. And the sand paper pieces VELCRO to the tool....don't try to peel off the backing like it's supposed to be self stick sandpaper. Pull off the buffing pad and install the sandpaper. Yeah, I did it the stupid way first time out....guess they figure it'd be insulting to put that in the directions.

Comments about 3M Headlight Lens Restoration System:

The headlight lenses on my daughter's 2004 Camry were yellowed and a little opaque in places. I examined the multitude of products available on the shelf at my local Advance Auto and, with the help of a very knowledgable sales associate, I decided that the 3M restoration kit would provide the right treatment. If the lenses are yellowed you need a kit with a pretty aggressive abrasive on the first step because you have to remove a very thin layer of plastic from the lenses.

Bottom line: My daughter got fantastic results with about 2 hours of effort.

I gave the product a four star rating. I think that the performance would be improved if the sanding discs were the same diameter as the disc holder. My daughter found that the unsupported 1/8" sanding disc overhang is difficult to manage at the lens perimeter because it does not make firm contact with the lens.

After she used the two sanding discs (500 and 800 grit) it looked like the lens would never be clear again but the third disc and the polishing compound gave the lenses a crystal clear finish. Wow, what a difference. I think the 2nd (800 grit) disc was the most important one. She made at least 6 passes over the lens and used two 800 grit discs on each lens.

And be sure to snap some before photos so you can admire your work when you finish.

Start with washing the lens with soap and water, tape the outer area and start sanding to remove any defects. Then polish the lens with the compound and finish it off by wiping with a towel. Since "John the Car-Doc" can't read... If you want the restoration to last you will need to put some kind of protective coating on the lenses. Automotive clear coat should work very well, and last even longer if you regularly wax the lenses with a quality UV protective wax also.

If used correctly, dry sand the 500 grit on the lens, clean, and repeat 2 more times, and do the same 3 times with 800 and 3000 grit sanding discs, then follow with the compound 3 times, you will get the clear lens as advertised. I do recommend following the compound with a glaze, and 3m ultra finishing paste all with the same orange pad. I also use a good sealant after completed just to keep the lens cleaner longer. This process will give you crystal clear lens that look brand new. NOT EXAGGERATING HERE. I clean headlights for a living and use this product on a regular basis. Of course I buy each different product in bulk, but the same products.

NO, a protective coating is not included in the kit. Any paint sealant will extend the life of the plastic lens.

You can able to clean two cars with one kit. Obviously this will depend on the condition of your headlights. Large or extremely hazed lenses may
                                require more than one kit.

That must be it. Our 1998 Chrysler Town&Country van lenses were very bad, making our low-beams almost useless. Friends & neighbors with other Chrysler vehicles had similar stories. Yet plenty of other older vehicles of other makes in the same neighborhood look fine.
