Bought this remover to get adhesive/tape off after removing emblems from my truck. I used fishing line to get emblems off and it left a lot of the tape attached to truck. I sprayed with 3M remover, tape started to break down, had to keep spraying numerous times, and scrape tape off, once tape was off had to spray and wipe adhesive repeatedly. It finally all came off. I noticed this remover is a level 1, maybe the super remover/higher level would work better on this specific application.

This product is very easy to use. Just sprayed onto a towel, then just wiped the residue right off. No paint damage. Clear coat, was just fine. I used on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. Great product!

I had 12 yr old baked on film protecting the front of my car that had cracked and basically was done with it's life expectancy that I wanted to remove. The film did come off when I heated it up, but the residue from the adhesive was awful. I tried other products and ended up removing some clear coat and some paint, but when I started using the 3M Adhesive remover it came off easily. I had to move quick or it would dry, but this has been the best product for removing the residue that I have found.

Just bought a box truck that had vinyl lettering on the side. Purchased this adhesive remover not holding my breath but was pleasantly surprised. The remaining glue from the vinyl lettering came right off in seconds. Takes a decent amount of elbow grease but it worked exactly as described.

The product does work but not as easily as I was lead to believe. I am removing the door guards from a coupe. The product was great to loosen them up enough to pull them off quite easily. Lots of adhesive was left behind and that required elbow grease and two cans to get the job done. This was the most effective way to remove the residue that I could find and would purchase it again with the understanding that it is a bit more time consuming then the product hints at. For decals or things such as that I don't have a comment but for the two sided automotive tape again two cans at a minimum.

                        A:

Hi Bruce, happy to help you! Use a piece of mono-filament fishing line with several knots tied in it to saw through the attachment tape. Use a dowel or other handle to avoid hurting your hands. You will then need to clean the residue off both the accessory and the vehicle. Use a citrus base cleaner, (smells like oranges) which does not contain any solvents, and will not damage the plastic or the paint. Apply the citrus base cleaner until the tape residue is softened and then carefully scrape it off with a plastic squeegee. When the residue is removed, clean the vehicle and the accessory with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol). Please test products to determine whether they are fit for a particular purpose and suitable for your method of application.
