Works very well to remove (very) old pinstripes and rust reformer (that is, latex) paint smudges, but wears quite rapidly in the process. Given the pricepoint, this can get expensive in a hurry. It definitely needs a good wired drill to use, battery powered tools will not like the constant power draw.

There are better ways to do what this product is advertised to do. An old credit card, razor blade and even my fingernails did a better job. The eraser wheel quickly rubbed off paint but did nothing to the old glue I was targeting. This is not the miracle tool that I was told it was.

Used to remove old (22 years) foam tape from around windows so new ventvisors could be installed. Saved a ton of time over glue remover and a rag!

Comments about 3M Adhesive Eraser Wheel:

Found this item when searching "How to remove in striping" on You Tube and watched several videos of folks using it. Looked simple so I tried it, and am glad I did! What a time saver for removing old, worn, cracked pin striping on you car or truck. I would add that having some Goo Gone gel on hand will help the clean up of the treated areas. Also, I used 3M Scratch Remover to get rid of the remaining adhesive and it look great! Highly suggest this to everyone looking to remove old pin stripes!

Make sure you get some adhesive remover if using it on pinstripes. Will leave residue.

I almost did not purchase this due to the pervious review I had pervious removed printed vinyl logos off 4 hoods with a heat gun and plastic razor blade. took all day, fingers blistered, paint blistered in areas, even came off in some areas a complete disaster. Purchased this remover and did 6 more cars the next day in half the time. Wish I had it from day one. This was exactly what I needed to do the job. Did not remove any paint, removed every part of the decal to include the glue. The logos had been on the hood for 3+years and were so bad they were cracked. Great product easy to use. Hi Adam, I'm glad to assist you. The 3M Adhesive Eraser Wheel (Part No. 3612) will not remove decals from underneath the clear coat. The clear coat must be sanded down and beyond the decal then the decal can be removed.

Hi Tim! No, we do not recommend using that product on fiberglass. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance store and one of our parts pros will be glad to assist you with an alternate availability.
