  • Q:

I have a 95 Civic dx, and the air conditioner doesn't work. It blows air, just not cold air, and it won't hold a charge of freon for more than a few hours. There is no leak around any of the hoses or the condenser, but there has been a leak around the evaporator. My question is this - is this part something that I could replace myself, and save a ton of money, or is it necessary to take it to a shop to get it done?

      A:

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
