you cant scan codes with this tool. you need a scantool to do that. if its 1996 or newer use an obd2 model, and if its before 1996 u will need a manufacturer specific obd1 scantool. if your trying to scan codes with a carb balancer you probably shouldnt be under the hood in the first place.Answered on 5/4/2010 by str8foward from anderson, sc
