This is a great alternative to the significantly more expensive ACDelco product...I don't see a difference in performance.

Comments about BWD Ignition Coil Housing Cover:

Four years ago i replaced coil housing with this one to cure a p0300 random misfire. it lasted 4 years and needed replacing again, but it's a typical part that breaks on these engines. 90% of the time it's the housing responsible for individual or random cyl. mis fires.

If this part is cracked does it affect the firing and how bad and what other parts does it affect?

                  A:

Ignition Coil Housing Cover cracks allow sparks to jump to ground through the housing instead of going to the spark plugs resulting in random misfires. Ignition coils are in a housing that is filled with oil. This oil is designed to keep the coil cool and working. If the coil heats up too much it can break. If you see oil around the ignition coil housing, chances are good it is a sign the ignition coil needs to be replaced before it completely fails. However, we would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and we would be more than happy to assist you.

Access the cover, then remove the 4 screws holding it down. Move the coils to the new cover and install again.
