Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose/Tube Assembly:
The hose fit perfectly, but it was tricky to install. I removed the battery, and unmounted the cruise control unit and then the hose could be worked in. It took two people, one on the bottom and one on the top to fish it in. Having a hoist to lift up the car was also very helpful.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose/Tube Assembly:
This is a great replacement for the OEM lines. You have to remove the windshield wipers and cowling to install (see youtube). It's not difficult, but time consuming. The lines are a little hard to fish in from the top. Might be easier with two people. I had to force the lines past the exhaust shielding, but it fits great. Do the spark plugs while your at it. Check the tube off the water pump too. It will rust out just like these line. Good luck...

Q:
I have a 2001 Dodge caravan Sport 3.3L V6 engine. I have seen video of people removing battery box and cruise control to replace this hose. And I have seen the windshield wiper assembly removed. Which is easier?1 answer

A:
These are the instructions for replacing the Heater Hose/Tube Assembly: Place a drain pan or bucket under the radiator and drain the system by opening the petcock fitting near the bottom. If the old engine coolant is not going to be used, dispose of it immediately because it is extremely poisonous. Remove the hose clamps from your old hose with a pliers or screwdriver, depending on the type of clamp used, and twist and pull the hose to loosen it from the fitting. Remove the hose and carefully scrape the fittings clean, then apply a small amount of gasket sealer to the fittings to assure a tight seal with your new hose. Apply sealer to the fitting only; this will help avoid any excess from possibly clogging the hose or a water channel in the block. Slide the clamps onto your new hose and install them, making sure that the hose ends slide over the fittings far enough to position the clamps properly. Tighten all the clamps, fill the radiator with coolant, and start the engine to check for cooling system leaks. Re-check the fluid level after the engine has reached normal operating temperature. Tools required for this operation: Screwdriver, Adjustable Pliers, Slip-joint Pliers, Hoses, Hose Clamps, Non-hardening Gasket Sealer, Antifreeze.
