The ford oil pressure gauge in cluster is either on or off. Grounded gauge reads normal oil pressure. open circuit gauge reads 0.
This switch is listed as used with light (dummy light) The ford oil pressure gauger is a dummy light.

It worked for me. My oil pressure gauge was bouncing all over the place and replacing this switch fixed it. I don't know how durable it is because I only had the vehicle for about a week. But when it was here it worked fine.

  With reference to your query on BWD Oil Pressure Switch part# S4223P, the oil pressure switch on your 2005 Ford F-150 is located inside the engine on the rear side of the engine block, near the intake manifold. Oil pressure switch may be the possible cause of the problem on your vehicle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.   Yes, I am sorry about that. Changing the part is simple, but its location can make it a bit tricky. It is located on the bracket which the oil filter screws into. Follow the hoses back to the oil filter adaptor and the oil pressure sensor and it should be right below the adaptor.   Yes it fits and works, but there really is no "gauge"... the gauge is actually a dummy light disguised as a gauge. The gauge is either on or off (oil pressure or no oil pressure), there is no in-between. There is no oil pressure sending unit that will convert the gauge unless you have a 1995 or older Ranger, B2200, B2300, B3000, B4000, Taurus, Sable, Explorer, or Probe. For those of you with the older cars/truck, go to The Ranger Station or any other similar forum site to research the oil pressure gauge conversion.

  If this is for a mustang then YES. If it is for something else, then I don't know. The oil gauge on mustangs are really glorified oil pressure lights.
