Comments about Remy New Alternator - 130 Amps:
I purchased this unit as a warranty replacement. Previous alternator was from Advance Auto but was refurbished, but with limited lifetime warranty. It only lasted 2 years and 1 month. Make sure you keep your paperwork and there was no hassle to exchange. I opted for this new one since the refurbished unit should have lasted much longer. Only installed for a few weeks, but works perfectly. Don't buy one without a warranty and keep your paperwork for ease of exchange.

Comments about Remy New Alternator - 130 Amps:
First Remy alt I purchased was no good, had electrical pulsating throughout the whole electrical system which was very noticeable with the headlights going dim and bright in fast succession. Checked all plugs, wires, connections, etc, with volt/ohmmeter, all checked ok. Had to take 1st alt back to Advance, they tested it on there machine and it showed good. I had to explain to them that my system didn't pulsate before and the only thing that changed was the alternator, so they did a warranty replacement anyway. The 2nd new alt solved the problem immediately. Keep in mind that loose connections, short in a wire, bad alt plug, etc, can all be causes of electrical pulsating, but when you rule all this out, whatever remains, however unlikely, must be the answer...which was the alt itself in my case. I purchased another Remy about a year ago for my wifes van and have had no problems with it. Went with Remy because it was brand new parts, not rebuilt or reman...you tend to get the pulsating problems a lot more with the rebuilt, reman ones because of bad connections and stators inside the alt that they don't bother to check or replace when they reman them.

Comments about Remy New Alternator - 130 Amps:
I installed this alternator only to have the charging system pulsate back and fourth, the lights would go dim and bright in a rythmic pattern. So I installed a new Palladium alternator only to have it turn on my charging indicator. So I figured I would give the Remy another try. After installing the second Remy alternator the vehicle's electical system was still pulsating, with the lights going from bright to dim in the same rythmic fashion. I finally ordered a motorcraft reman alternator and that fixed the problem.

Comments about Remy New Alternator - 130 Amps:
After installing this new alternator a new belt and a new battery in a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer the charging system checks out ok but the dashboard battery light stays on After returning to the store and having them check with their test equipment I was told all is good and I should take it to a dealer I think that this indicator light is a function of the alternator that is either faulty on not provided on this replacement part
