I have a 1999 Dodge Durango that won't go in to 4 wheel drive when you shift the transfer case lever to 4 wheel high. Someone told me there is a vacum, lack of a better word, switch that lockes the front differental in. Any help on what it's called? Can't find it in any repair manuals.1 answer

Inside the Trans Pan.A:
It is actually on the drivers side towards the top of the transfer case. About half way back. It's hard to see but, if you look up from the driver's side where the front shaft comes out and look forward a bit. You will see a wire going to the transfer case, the sensor is attached to the end of that wire. Just unplug wire replace sensor and plug back in. Not an easy spot to get to.
