Comments about Permatex 1,000° Plus™ Exhaust Repair Kit:

The flex pipe on my beater care is starting to break. It has a slight exhaust leak in it. The repair shop wanted to replace it for about 100 dollars. This car has 147k miles on it. Not worth the money to put into it. I bought this and it seemed to work well. I would say if you have an older vehicle use this before replacing the pipe. If it is a newer car and it is worth the money, fix it correctly.

Comments about Permatex 1,000° Plus™ Exhaust Repair Kit:

A heat shield mount broke off of my E-250 so I was going to use this to repair the damage and stop the rattling.

The package was filled with liquid and a 3 part 'bandage'. The liquid ran everywhere (and was a bear to get off after it dried). Perhaps this one had too much liquid, but the directions said to apply the sticky side toward the pipe - there was no sticky side. It was all just wet, slippery and started coming apart like a wet paper towel.

I decided to go 'old school' with it and ended up using a hose clamp instead.

Comments about Permatex 1,000° Plus™ Exhaust Repair Kit:

Good fix! Had a hanger break off its weld, it opened up a half dollar size hole in pipe before the muffler. Wrapped this tape around pipe, drove home. Noticed instant sound reduction. Arrived home foil was rock hard and exhaust was quiet again. Well worth the [$]

This Permatex 1,000 Plus Exhaust Repair Kit - part# 80334/V814 may work. However, I would always recommend fixing the problem by finding out exactly the cause of leak and then replacing the necessary parts. A:

It may, but I would not count on it since the flex pipe "flexes". It would be best to just replace that section with new piping.

Yes. The first check mark on the package shows the use includes catalytic converter, and temperature over 1000 degrees F.
