Do not buy, get an Optima

This is the second of three failures from this manufacturer. Battery technology has improved so much I had not had a battery failure in ten years until I bought one from another retailer, and, when that failed after 1 1/2 years, bought an Autoraft gold against my wishes (the case design indicated it came from the same manufacturer) due to an on road emergency. 4 months later it failed and I was told I had to take another AutoCraft. I forget how many of the Advanced Auto Autocraft Gold batteries I've bought over the years. Ever since my first purchase of one some 10-12 years ago I've come back. The batteries always have performed well except for one instance when the battery was replaced under the warranty - and the warranty on the Gold series batteries is a big part of my reason for choosing them. Advanced Auto stands behind the warranty. I've used them in a minivan, in two Chevrolet Suburbans and my most recent purchase went into a 1979 MGB. Took advantage of a buy online and pick up in store discount - a nice added extra!

This battery is a replacement for my 2006 Scion XA. I was a little anxious about the whole thing, thinking this might be the beginning of a slew of expenses. The service person that installed it (for free) was very friendly and knowledgable. Once he'd finished, he also ran a full diagnostic on the electrical system to confirm that the alternator and other components were functioning properly--all free of charge. I don't know if this is typical for all stores, but my local store earned my repeat business.
