Comments about Optima Batteries RedTop Starting Battery:

Based on reviews of other customers, I decided to give this battery a try. The battery this model replaced was at its end of life. Instead of going with the usual OME sort, I decided to upgrade. I figured, if multiple customers stated they had SEVERAL years of use out of Optima batteries, why not give this model a shot.
So far, it seems to be worth it. I have quick, strong starts, even as the weather gets cold. All my vehicle electronics seem more stable, too, even when I was told I may have had an alternator issue. No problems now. Very satisfied. Great battery!

Love this maintenance free battery which will give you years of reliable use. This is the third RedTop I have owned and the one I replaced served me well for 8 years in the bitter cold of Oklahoma and gruelling heat of Phoenix Arizona. The extra cost is worth the reliability and cranking power of this battery.

My red top battery model 78 has a round label 1/11, does that indicate manufacture date? I just purchased 12/20/12 from national parts store, was I sold an old battery? If so should I try to have them replace. Also UPC code is very close but p/n is different for this model based off current Internet site specs.

I already own a red top and for the past 3 months my truck doesn't start up quick like it used to. Is it time to replace the battery or should I get it charged up. It was purchased in Sept. of 07.

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.

I notice the redtop has a 36 mth full replacement warranty. What about after the 36mths? Is it prorated then or none at all. A battery that cost this much should surely have more than 36 mths? If anyone knows where i can view the warranty info for this battery, please let me know.

The prorated purchase price of any battery listed above, which becomes defective after the lapse of the "Free Replacement Period", and prior to the end of the warranty period, will be either credited toward the purchase of another battery, or refunded at our option. The amount of the proration shall be determined by dividing the purchase price by the number of months of the warranty period, and then multiplying the result by the number of months remaining in the warranty period. (Any partial months will be rounded to the nearest whole month). When a battery is replaced after the "Free Replacement Period" and a prorated fee is paid, the warranty starts from that date as a new purchase.
