Worst batteries I have ever dealt with, I have purchased 7 of the pieces of junk. Every one of them has been an absolute piece of junk....The latest fiasco is the battery I bought in March of 2010 has gone bad. Maufacturing defect. It started leakin from the top, While charging. This is going to be the last Optima battery I will ever buy. And the only reason I am buying a new one is because it's the only thing that will fit a billet aluminum battery box. DO Not Purchase these batteries, they are junk.

I actually exchanged this for a yellowtop, as it suited my application better. But I have owned red top optima batteries for years, and have never had anything but good things to say about them. Looking for a reliable battery that will never leave you stranded? I STRONGLY suggest considering an Optima.

My 7 year old battery had me worried when it was taking longer than normal to start my '99 F150. So for just a little more money than other "premium" batteries, I got this one. It definitely cranks the engine over better and I was happy that the battery came with several options for mounting/securing it. My stock battery hold down bolt snapped off, so I drilled it out and used one of the side mount options. I've only had it in my truck a few days and if it continues this good, I will be a repeat customer when the time comes. I love that this is maintenance free and spill-proof.

I bought and installed this battery back in 2005 for its AGM properties (e.g., non-spill-able, vibe resistant, etc.), since I was doing an engine swap and wanted to move the battery to the trunk to free some space under the hood.
For the past 8 years it has been trunk-mounted, running ~6-8 feet of 1/0 gauge cable to a power distribution block in the engine compartment. Negative-side is also 1/0 gauge and is grounded at one of the rear seat belt bolts.
I don't have a sound system, I've only ever used it to start (but I have accidentally drained it dead a few times). Still holds a charge of 12.2v & drops to 10.5v under starting load.
The carry strap is nice, too.
Its a heavy battery, but all of the most powerful batteries are heavy. I consider that a fair trade-off.
The price IS high, but if it lasts even twice as long as an economy battery it pays for itself.

I installed a red top in my corvette and had to replace in under 3 years. The replacement also lasted less than 3 years. Too much hype too litter performance.

I don't believe you will have any problems with the fit if you purchase your new battery that is the same Group/Size as your existing battery and has the same terminal configuration (top/side).
