It's a great battery. The only thing you have to do is pay attention to how the posts are oriented in your car. Optima makes their batteries with the posts available with Red (+) on the left and Black (-) on the right or just the opposite with Red on right and Black on left. The part store computer doesn't know how it is in your car, so you have to actually figure that out on your own. And the sales person should realize this. If you got an optima battery with the posts on the wrong side it's not optima's fault, it's that you and the sales person failed to physically look at how the battery is in your car.

Bought this battery and returned it because the one that was given to me was 2 yrs old and discharged which I didn't notice when it was given to me. I don't doubt it's a great battery but I think I'll stick with a red top or any other battery is just as good but if you can get a good deal on one of these why not.

I needed a replacement for my Corvette and high power and capacity were very important considerations. I checked with members of my Corvette Club and all said the Optima was the best choice. I ordered this battery online at excellent savings and had it installed at a local Advance. I picked up the battery and it was quickly installed. When I turned the key it was apparent I made the right choice as the starter spun up quickly and the engine started immediately. The battery has so far proved perfect for the Corvette. I'm very pleased with the battery.

This is my second Optima battery for my 2003 (9 year old) Corvette. The first one lasted well through the warranty period despite repeated deep discharges. The factory glass matt battery died after a single "deep discharge incident". The Optima yellow top, while not indestructible, certainly bounced back nicely every time. I recommend that you get a charger designed for this kind of deep cycle battery though. My old charger couldn't deal with the high amperage necessary to charge the battery when it was really low. It is also rough on your car's electrical system to try to charge it when it is in this "deep discharge" condition. There are videos explaining this on the Optima web site. These videos are worth your time to watch, they explain about how to handle deep cycle batteries.
