I use my truck occasionally but require it to start when I need it. I made a few mods & upgrades including monitors, DVD, alarm, remote start, power inverters, flashlight chargers. I mostly work at night & if I have to leave the lights on but the truck off, my battery wouldn't be able to restart the truck. I carried a portable battery but that needed to be recharged on a regular basis to keep it ready for emergencies.
Though I've been looking at the optima for years, I finally took the plunge to see iff it would support my needs. Time will tell, but I intentionally left the devices on with the ignition off to see how far I can push it. 38 mins later the truck started & I was relieved.
The only drawback was the shape of the battery prevented the battery cover being reinstalled. It needed a new bracket to hold the battery in place, & I don't trust the security of the mount. I will probably fabricate a cover & mount to protect and secure it better. As it is, I had to cut the present cover to replace it over the new battery.

I've had the battery for a couple of weeks in my classic. I was surprised at how strong the charge was - right out of the box. The sealed battery fit perfect and is a very clean design. I went with the yellow top because of the long storage time between cruises.

Purchased for my Son's 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Although it is not shown to fit this car, It is a perfict fit, has a good reserve and high CCA. He has a large electrical load, multiple amps, several 15" dual coil base speakers, 20mf capicitor etc. He also uses another optima in the trunk. Have had good experiences with this product. The previous 3 yr old optima still load tests higher then factory specs.

Like the title reads it may be overkill but you can't go wrong with Optima batteries it's my second one my first got taken away in my rolled over JGC. Never hoping my vehicle will start in the middle of winter absolute best choice

Had this battery installed over two years ago, haven't regreted once. Battery has never failed, even after leaving lights on for a couple hours, with engine not running.

According to the Optima website agm batteries only emit hydrogen when they are overcharged or overheating (>125°F). Not sure about indoor use though.Answered on 4/16/2011 by CM from NJA:
