I put these in my 2001 Cadillac Seville SLS. I was having intermittent missing and occasional starting problems - especially when hot. Since I bought the car used and didn't know the service history, I decided to replace the plugs first. This solved the problem instantly. Even though pre-gapped, you should check the gap, as 3 out of 8 were off. No noticeable fuel economy improvement, however, above problems were solved and there IS a noticeable power increase - probably in the 10% range.

These plugs are fragile, must be very careful gaping them, I cracked one installing it on the back side of engine and I have never broken a plug in my life, did not do anything extra for motor runs normal, took out old e-3s and if I had to do over I would go with the e-3s or ac-delco. Overall just a normal replacement plug that is a little on the delicate side!

Comments about NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (TR55IX):
put these in my wife's 06 mercury mountaineer with 4.0L engine. They were all pre gapped to the right specification. I didn't have any problem with them breaking, but you shouldn't go crazy tightening plugs anyway. I did notice immediately an increase in the responsiveness of the engine and increased pep. No idea of fuel economy improvements, that would just be a bonus.

06 Ford explorer 79,000 miles, had a low rpm miss under load and had been a little harder to start. changed plug wires, plugs and battery ( NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug) (stock battery tested at 325cca and was rated at 650cca) We went on 300mile trip in a snowstorm miss was gone and it started fine. I have been using NGK Iridium Spark Plugs in my KDX200 dirt bike for three years and they give then better low end power and it starts with a 1/2 kick most of the time when warmed up and they donot wear. Plugs, wires or battery fix my engine miss.

Comments about NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (TR55IX):
I bought these plugs to replace the AC Delco OEM iridium plugs, which were replaced at 78K miles with OEM factory plugs installed. Then at 122K, the car was suffering from a misfire. I replaced these plugs with NGK IX Iridium series and the car just took off like a rocket. I can feel the increase throttle response as it burn out my tires. I didn't just replaced the plugs, I cleaned out the cylinders with Seafoam Engine Treatment, replaced fuel filter with Purolator, and changed the oil with Castrol HM. All that made a significant improvement in my car's performance. I highly recommend these plugs. Plus be EXTRA careful when checking the gap on these plugs. My car called for .060 and these plugs were at 0.58 plus or minus 1 or 2, which was acceptable. I didn't want to risk breaking these extremely fragile electrodes.

Comments about NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (TR55IX):
my sons buick was not running very well so i replaced the plugs and the wires[used delco wires by the way]. the plugs i removed were autolight and the tips were burnt right down to a tiny point. im surprised the car ran. the new plugs were alot more money but i think its worth it in the long run. the car has more power, runs smoother.

Comments about NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (TR55IX):
NGK plugs seem to out perform original equipment. I know spark plugs just throw a danged spark into the combustion chamber, but the motor (LT1 in this case) seems to have increased power over the entire powerband. Horsepower and torque seems to have improved. Hard to guage what part the spark plugs contributed to the horsepower and torque gains as I pulled the heads to replace the head gasket and while off I cleaned the heads and lapped the valves. Significant power and fuel mileage increase has occurred but could be the result of several factors. Suffice it to say the plugs work great!

Comments about NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug (TR55IX):
I have used NGK plugs and products for almost 40 years and have never been disappointed. These plugs with their fine wire tip produce a very intense spark. This set is replacing a set that have 90000 miles on them without a misfire. I think they would have went another 20000 miles if I had left them in. Can't beat NGK for quality plugs
