If the gear is too hard, it will damage the cam; if it's too soft, the gear itself will be damaged, potentially causing severe engine damage – possibly even engine failure. Many offshore manufacturers use one gear hardness without varying by application as O.E. designs do.

This was very easy to install and redesigned from original part. Marked the old disp. and marked new disp. and matched stuff up. Dropped in and started right up.

I bought this when my stock distributor failed. It was cheaper then replacing it with a used one. This distributor has been redesigned from the stock version of this and seems to be more durable. I marked where my old distributor was, marked the new one, and slid it right in place. I was back up and running in less than a half hour.

The price is right but better buy 2 you have a 50/50 chance of it working. I bought one put it in and nothing, spark goes in but nothing comes out.
