Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Finewire Single Platinum Spark Plug:

In the early 90's I had good luck with gimmick plugs, especially Bosch platinum's. Lots have changed with OBD II computers, and multi port fuel injection. I have had experience with failures of lower quality "old school" copper plugs where they are not specified, as well as performance decreases with non OE platinums. Ford seems the most susceptable to this. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH MOTORCRAFT OE spec PLUGS in a Ford. (MOTORCRAFT IS THE BEST OPTION FOR FORD) I just put these in an 01 Escort that was pinging like it had a bad lifter, and was running bad. I pulled out the #4 spark plug first as it had thrown a misfire code on cyl 4. It was an Autolite copper plug, and the insulator was burnt heavily in one section. I put the new plugs in, and the sounds were gone. The 2.0 is running as good as it was intended to now.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Finewire Single Platinum Spark Plug:

i have found that the factory tunes for the best milage and reliabilaty on non performance vehicles, so i believe putting the original plugs is the only way to go. plus having tried different (cheaper) plugs in different vehicle and found the dont perform per gallon wise as well as original

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Finewire Single Platinum Spark Plug:

I was told Motorcraft plugs work best for Ford vehicles so that's what I bought. A bit more expensive than other brands but that was expected. Depends on the vehicles you will probably need to re-gap them first before installation.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Finewire Single Platinum Spark Plug:

originally, i replaced the factory plugs in my 2000 ford f150 4.2L with bosch platinum spark plugs. a mechanic friend later advised that that i should use the standard ford platinum plugs because the ford sparks the plug with two charges and other standard plugs will not hold up as well to this.
i noticed an immediate increase in power and smoothness to my engine when i installed the motorcraft platinum plugs and am glad i made the change.
