Comments about Rancho RS5000 Series Shock:

Great solution for my Ranger 4X4 torsion front suspension. Ford no longer offers front shocks for the factory lifted version Ranger. This is a great shock for this vehicle. Perfect fit.

Currently trying to install this on a 2000 ford ranger XLT supercab 2WD. The lower mounting bracket on the shock isnt wide enough to go over the two lower mounting brackets.

          A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Rancho RS5000 Series Shock - part# RS5229, as the lower mounting bracket is not wide enough to accept the shock, the truck bracket has to be bent a bit. However, I would suggest you to get assistance from a certified mechanic in order to avoid intermittence. For any further assistance, you may also call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

          A:

It depends upon the skill level of the person performing the operation. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

          A:

The Rancho shock/strut is a twin tube shock. Here is little more information to help you with your shopping.
          # 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving
          # Twin tube cellular gas design
          # 1-3/8" piston and 5/8" piston rod on most applications
