Comments about BWD Mass Air Flow Sensor:
You dont need to be a mechanic to install. Very straightforward. On a '99 Explorer with a 5.0 V8: Disconnect battery, remove 4 small bolts, loosen 1 hose clamp and disconnect to take off and reverse order to install. Explorer ran better instantly.

Q:will this mass air flow sensor not let it start up and sometime will start
A:With reference to your inquiry on this BWD Mass Air Flow Sensor - part# 220068M, the mass air flow sensor may be the possible cause of the problem on your vehicle. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, you may also call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
Q:can you visually tell if unit is bad? I tested with voltmeter for ohms and got nothing
A:Quick Testing procedure of MAF sensor: First with the engine running, tap on the MAF sensor slightly. If the engine stumbles it is a sign of a bad MAF and second test is disconnecting the MAF with the engine running. If the engine condition improves, MAF is likely bad.
Q:can the core be brought back to the store??
A:Yes, you may return the core to any Advance Auto Parts store.
