Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Control Arm Front Upper Right:

Overall I am pretty satisfied with this purchase. There were a couple of inconveniences with the product. First, there was no marking of left or right on the control arm anywhere for the right side. At least the left had an L and I had my receipt to verify part number and side. Second, the zerks were different sizes for R and L. Left was a 7mm, right was a 3/8" but they both screwed in okay and took grease. The parts fit perfect otherwise and were cheap so I can't complain. FYI, on 98 mountaineer you must push the left control arm up as far as it will go to be able to get the bolts out and back in, otherwise the fuel lines are in the way. I wasted a lot of time before I figured this out.

Was for my 1999 Mazda B2500. Control arm was the same size, but the "shaft" of the ball joint was too large to fit the existing hole. Plus, one control arm (replacing both sides) had a zerk fitting, but the other arm did not (no hole).

                      A:

There should only be one upper control arm on each side of the front of your vehicle. This is one of those control arms. Two would have to be purchased.

Will this control arm replace the two piece design? My 98 Explorer has the two piece control arm and I would like to replace it with this unit if possible.

The OE adjustment is for caster NOT camber. Also if your control arm bushings are fine I.E. no play in them, you should just replace with the small ball joint arm not the whole control arm (more cost effective).

I was mistaken in my other answer. Yes this will, but you won't have the camber adjustment.

                    • A:

No, this is for the left side, the two piece is on the right. The two piece is necessary for camber adjustments and is simple to replace when the ball joint boot rips.
