Monroe Quick-Strut units include all the components required for strut replacement in a single, fully-assembled unit. They feature pre-assembled replacement bearing plate, upper and lower spring isolators, upper spring seat, coil spring, boot kit, and a premium strut. This breakthrough design saves on installation time by eliminating having to disassemble components and compress the coil spring prior to installation. Each Quick-Strut assembly features application-engineered valving to optimize each vehicle's unique ride and handling characteristics. - Pre-Assembled Upper Strut Mount: OE-style bearings, SAE-grade nuts and bolts, Superior rubber-to-steel bonding, Plated steel for longer wear, All components manufactured to meet or exceed OE performance
- Bearing Plate: The new bearing plate helps ensure consistent, precise steering return by eliminating “memory steer.” Helps eliminate steering noises commonly associated with worn or corroded bearings. Also improves overall steering smoothness (if equipped - front only)
- Upper Spring Seat: Each new spring seat is engineered to complement the ride control characteristic of the corresponding premium Monroe strut and upper strut mount. The upper spring seat provides consistent performance without transmitting noise or vibration into the chassis. Also supports the vehicle’s weight and helps properly offset the spring in the strut tower.
- Coil Spring: Manufactured from high-quality U.S. steel, each coil spring is precisely calibrated to support the vehicle’s weight and help ensure correct ride height. Each spring is painted or powder-coated for excellent rust resistance
- Boot Kit: The durable strut boot protects the strut rod and seal from dirt and debris. The premium bumper prevents component damage when the suspension bottoms out

I needed a little help. Need someone to push down on the spindle while lineing up the strut to the spindle. The new strut is a little taller than the old one. I replaced the struts because of inside wear on the tire. camber was off. 2001 Sable 99k

Did not need spring compressors. It is a little longer than the originals I removed, but I believe it was because they were really worn. Springs do loose there shape after being compressed for long periods of time. Just have to push, pull, twist and use a jack to raise the knuckle once it is aligned. A little lube to help out and it went in place. no more than 30lbs of torque on the top 3 mounting bolts or you'll shear them! took 2 hrs total. 2005 Taurus, front. Check youtube for your application for tips and tricks. Was really easy. Basic hand tools used.

I broke the spring on my front strut. It was nice to have a complete unit to install all at once. that way I knew everything would fit well and reduce personal injury during installation / extraction. It installed just fine.

This strut is about 2 inches longer than the stock Ford part I removed. The old one came out easy. You will need a good pry bar 4 to 5 ft. and a jack to jack the lower control arm up once you get the strut in the knuckle. once the knucle pinch bolt is tight you can raise the lower control arm so the stablizer aligns with the strut bracket. The axle will come out of the
tranny so be careful.

My son-in-law used this product to replace a broken spring on my car and decided it was easier to install the entire strut kit instead of trying to replace just the spring. He installed new strut kits on both sides and it was well worth it. They were installed in less than an hour and resulted in a very improved ride overall.
