Had to cut the metal guard on my Jeep Cherokee at the radiator neck, and had to trim the plastic fan shroud to get the radiator to fit. After these modifications, the rest of the connections fit and the radiator has been performing superb. While I saved on the install doing it myself, I could have saved more time knowing I had to make the mods. Double check the radiator neck and fan shroud before beginning. Mods weren't hard, but I needed power tools to get the metal cut.

So far, this radiator is not leaking, so it's an improvement from what I had before, in that sense. Otherwise, this is the worst aftermarket part that I have installed in a long time. Every once in a while one might come across something that wasn't quite designed or built to OEM tolerances and it can usually be overcome with minimal frustration, but this radiator was a flat-out joke in that regard. The part shouldn't be represented as 'fitting' a Jeep Cherokee if I have to hack off part of the fan shroud bracket to allow the shrouds to fit, drill my own hole in the bracket to mount the trans cooler line brace, and then spend more time 'modifying' the body of the vehicle so that the lower ATF cooler fitting can allow the radiator to sit down in its mount. As it is, the fitting is resting up against the body, which is not ideal. If the fitting was bent either at more of an angle, or closer to the radiator, it would have been fine.
I'll admit that the bracket trimming is not difficult if the radiator is not in the Jeep, but I had already set it in and started to attach hoses, etc. to it, and didn't want to have to remove it, modify it, and then re-install(why should I have to anyways?!!!?).
Bottom line, I had to put a new radiator in a vehicle with which I was already familiar, so I budgeted a couple of hours, max, to get it done and it ended up taking a lot longer because of this garbage, so plan on at least an extra hour, if you're lucky enough to read the warnings on the wall before you plunk down the cash. I did not, and paid for it with my time.
You tricked me this time ReadyRad, but never again.

This is the 2nd radiator we've had to put in the Jeep. It has 248,000 miles on it.

Comments about Ready-Rad Radiator:
Tabs on the bottom were not exactly the same as the OEM it was replacing. Transmission cooling lines had to be supported elsewhere from their original mounting location. It appears to be a well built radiator. We'll see how it holds up over time. For the price, really couldn't beat it anywhere else.

Comments about Ready-Rad Radiator:
Tabs on bottom left for fan shroud must be cut to fit. Studs on top do not align with radiator support. I had to drill hole and cut some of the studs off. Even with the holes I drilled some of the studs did not make it to the top of the radiator support. If I wouldn't have modified it the radiator would be loose on top wiggling around. I also had to cut a small corner out of the sheet metal the air box sits on so the trans inlet line on the bottom going into the cooler would fit. With out doing this you cant get the radiator to sit properly. If you know this going into it, it's not so bad. Only took 20 mins with all the cutting to put in and bolt and connect everything back up.

Only problem was I had to cut 2 tabs for mounting fan shroud. Easy task, no other problems, engine runs cooler now.

This is the first time I used the online ordering with store pickup. Everything went perfectly. Online installation instructions were extremely helpful. Encountered no problems and it's an exact fit. Have already ordered online, picked up parts & installed them on another vehicle, also. Prices are also the lowest of the competitors.

Comments about Ready-Rad Radiator:
I put this in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport and it fit pretty well. I struggled a bit to get it seated because the condenser lines kept pulling the condenser forward. The kit doesn't include the tool to remove the transmission return line from the bottom of the radiator, so make sure you get it before leaving the store. I didn't so I made a return trip in the middle of the project.
The kit comes with the lower and upper fitting for your transmission lines and o-rings, they were an exact match to my Jeep. I've read reviews of others that had problems with this for other year models so be aware of that.
I was worried about the hood latch not matching back up but everything went fine. Putting the top plate and lining it up went pretty well but this radiator is a snug fit. I transferred the two rubber stand-offs to the new radiator as those are not included in the kit.
After getting everything back together, I ran into a problem with the passenger-side fan shroud not seating. The new radiator has extra slots which seemed like a good idea so I didn't worry about it. I ended up using a sawzall with a metal blade to cut those extra slots off.
Other than that, everything went well. You may want to transfer the bottom plate from the original radiator to the new one before installing it.

The radiator installed with no issues! I had read that the unit would need modifications. This was not true with the unit I received. It was a direct replacement. Great price too!!
