I have replaced these on numerous vehicles and the issue of short life is always there. The reason is simple physics. Brighter light requires more heat. The way to get more heat (light)output is to overdrive the lamp with more current. More current=more heat=more light output=shorter life. It's that simple. The advertised performace is overstated but the consumer is forced to personally decide if the minimum results are worth it. In the driveway the improvements are strickly subject - (not measureable). HID conversion is the place to spend the money for the best improvement.

Comments about Sylvania XtraVision TWIN Halogen Headlight:
Initially, I was pleased with these lamps for the visibility, however, after replacing two sets in less than a year, and no response from Sylvania customer service to hold up their warranty (free replacement in less than 6 months), I will not purchase these lamps anymore. I have averaged about 4 months out of each lamp. I am switching back to OEM bulbs.

The lights were not as bright as I had thought them to be. Sylvania has exaggerated themselves quite a bit.
